I live in australia and the law states that customs can confiscate any hand held laser over 1mW
but would they be able to confiscate it if you buy it online and they ship it overseas?
the laser i'm looking at is the S3 arctic found here
High Power Blue 1W Laser | S3 Spyder III Arctic
just want to know because i dont wanna spend 300+ dollars on sumting that gets taken
thanks for any help

Anything above 1mW in a handheld device/pointer is illegal to import plus I don't suggest getting the Arctic as you'll have around about a 6 month wait if not longer,
Also the Arctic isn't all that wonderful.

Of course, why wouldn't they?
They xray every (?) envelope and package, and open up the suspicious ones.
Have you never seen that show "border control" on the discovery channel?
Aussie customs habe to be the most paranoid on planet earth.
Next thing you know, they'll have a dog trained to sniff out lasers.

I think border security also have LPM's for testing lasers that look suspicious.

So if that 1mw pen you buy is actually 1.4mw, guess who gets a nasty letter from customs, and no laser?
