I'm looking at possibly buying a 200mw red laser from rayfosslasers. This would be my first laser I've bought out of country and my question is how often do these things have import issues, and is there any legal consequence or is it just confiscated?

If customs catches it they just confiscate it!

Very few import issues, you'll get a letter and a box, you'll get whatever else was in the package (usually) and the package will be sealed with green Customs Office tape, with a letter taped to the outside.
