^^^U.S.A. is my country, I'm not hiding anything, but you're too close minded to notice that. The country where I was born is called Kyrgyzstan and it is a third world ex soviet $hithole. I feel about as much patriotism towards it as I do towards the results of my morning bowel movement.

@Raiden, hostility is coming from him neg repping me twice for no reason, and openly trolling me for months now.

No, but my race conquered the land. Just like 100 other countries did around the globe.

No they didn't but why should I be surprised that you don't know the history of "your" own country?

Your place of birth dictates your nationality, not a test. I was born here, you were born in some American wanna be country. Then when you get here you figure out its not what you thought it was, and act like an armchair quarterback pointing your finger at "our" problems. Where did you come from? You can tramp my country but you dont even have the balls to tell us yours. Sure I beat my chest, what do you do? You hide. Can you be a bigger loser for thinking you have to hide your heritage for some unknown reason? They probably paid to get rid of you, like sending you to school. What was the reasons why you had to move here??

You play a rigged game, and thats BS. You're not as smart as you think you are, and this "front" you put up is transparent.

The above rant has too many idiotic statements to address one by one, and I know you can't read more than three lines - you can only rant. Actually engaging in a discussion seems to be beyond your abilities which end at rants, two liner jokes, and crappy pictures.

If anyone else wants to have a normal discussion on the subject though, let's talk.

Even though I was born in Mannheimeim Germany, my family is American, and I consider it my country. But I won't try to cover up its shortcomings at all.

^^^There is no such thing as perfection. Every country and every person has shortcomings.

I'm not USA bashing, but US does have a lot of problems. Simply ignoring them with the "I'm American, I'm number one!","America, F*ck Yeah!" attitude is very shortsighted.

It's easier to look at things that way, and just get angry if someone points out a problem though.

This brings back old times.

I used to use a high power red laboratory laser, mounted on a tripod, to make cars coming down the hill next to my house go back up the hill backwards to escape my laser.

'course, that was 1971, and I was very young, and very stupid, and thought that I was just God's Gift to Comedians for mis-using the laser that way.

(I had access to it because it was being used for special effects in an amateur theatrical production, and for some reason our Director (who was a Special Effects Expert at Universal Studios) thought that it was a good idea to send a high power lab laser home with a kid like me...).

Perhaps it didn't apply in my situation; but when I was stationed in Hawaii (~ 1992 - 1995 ), I knew several Japanese, including a couple of Japanese families. I think you might be generalizing... it's easy to do with almost any ethnic group that is associated with stereotypes.

I never had a problem with them, and never had problems with the way *I* was treated. I was suprised at their sense of humor... I used to pester them with jokes about Japanese Sci-Fi movies ("Godzilla" was my favorite target). They SEEMED to get the humor, the laughter / giggles SEEMED sincere. They make jokes about their own cultural stereotypes (the movies, anyway...). And they would bug me about "cowboys and indians", knowing that I was from Texas.

A couple of them mentioned that I " ... didn't seem tall enough for someone from Texas .. " (I am 5' 6"). I was asked by one of the kids if "I ever hanged anyone?". I just took all that stuff in stride.

Maybe *Hawaiian* Japanese were different (shrug)... I don't know how many generations removed they were from Japan.

Armadillos also migrated here...

ARMADILLOS! F**K YEA!

(On second thought they carry leprosy and they should all be exterminated (j/k))

(Actually those things roam around the courtyard in my apartment complex at night - also foxes, and (I think) an occasional coyote. There is a "wild" creek in my neighborhood that brings in all kinds of critters. Amuses my cat while he watches through the windows at night).

You're looking at a population of Japanese in a different country. They're probably a bit more "worldly" than the rest. No, they're not all like that, just like not all Americans are blindly patriotic bumpkins who watch Fox News. However, Japanese racism is ingrained in the society, especially among the older generation. The problem was bad enough that there was even a UN investigation, noting that the Japanese government does little to combat discriminatory practices.

Maybe *Hawaiian* Japanese were different (shrug)... I don't know how many generations removed they were from Japan.

It very well might be that, especially since there's a relatively high population of Japanese in Hawaii among other folks. I know that the Japanese I've met have been very nice, and I didn't sense any racism, but then again, the only Japanese I've met have been in the US. In Japan proper it is probably different, including shops that won't serve "gaigins".

( @ Bionic-Badger );

Yea, I suppose... I have to concede that you're probably right concerning "mainlander" Japanese. I've never been there, so I wouldn't know.

Maybe the *younger* generations (teen / young adult) of "mainlander" Japanese are perhaps ... "more jaded" (according to their elders) and perhaps also "more worldly" / less nationalistic?

A couple of things I didn't think to mention... I was stationed on Okinawa (Torii Station)... To "us", the Okinawans of course LOOK Japanese, but come to think of it they WERE sometimes treated as "lower class" by the Japanese. It's kind of hard to tell, since the local populace seemed so "naturally deferential" to everyone all the time; I.E. they may have considered THEMSELVES lower class. Kind of a hard mind set for an occidental to understand.

Also; when I was in Hawaii, I took my PADI Instructor's exam in January of 1993. A couple of the proctors were from mainland Japan. They WERE kind of stand-offish. Not SERIOUSLY so.

LOL, Borat is one of my favorite comedies/characters:)

Btw, in the movie he is from Kazakhstan, not Kyrgyzstan. Those part of the movie were actually filmed in Romania.

As for what I look like... I posted a pic somewhere in that Other section.
