Yes, see doctor - eye specialist. Noone here could tell you. This is complicated to impossible to guess as you gave very little info about the accident. And get safety glasses for this laser.

Seems Alex lost patience with him.

BTW is there a general thread named something like: "In the case of laser accident"? I've not seen any in Safety forum - this would be a sticky thread with some basic info and a lot of links to Laser Pointer Safety - A comprehensive resource, for safe and responsible laser use. The purpose would be to give basic directions on self examination, advices of dos and donts in case of accident, contacts etc. Would be nice to use LPS (link above) as a lot of this is there already. Just for purposes of LPF and people looking for help.

I think it would help to people who need that a lot and reduced "should I see a doctor" spamming and trolling as just link to that thread would be needed to answer majority of questions about accidents.

Your opinions?

I don't think it would reduce it by all that much, I mean some of it is just pure trolling where some guy wants to rile the forum up. The one 'Obviova' guy wasn't even trying hard, and posted info which didn't make sense anyway.

Might be... I did not check his profile. Even if I think it is very likely just "spamroll" (spamming troll), like this case, I answer these kind of questions ASAP, what if it was real and this guy was just a victim of idiots misusing helpful community here and remain without help? Very stressing moments when you have these concerns about your eyes... That is main reason why such a general info thread would be useful IMO. If someone makes a thread with accident anybody could direct him/her to the Laser accident thread.

Kinda funny how they think that asking a legitimate question, then proceeding to taking gibberish is considered trolling. They might want to check a dictionary about what trolling means. Twelve year olds on Xbox could troll much better than these idiots.

Tell them to call 911 and explain that they hit their self in both eyes with a laser pen and specify if it was the left or right eye first. Let them know you will stay on their forum thread until emergency responders arrive.

Guys I went to the doctor , and she looked into my eyes (after applying eye drops to dilate the pupil) and found that my eyes were not permanently damage, and that the retina is a tissue that can heal itself. She compared my case with a person whos got arc eye disease, and that the after images and photopsia will dissapear in the next week. I thank you guys again for your wise advices, lasers are a powerful "weapon", I might carry one around the city for selfdefense (blinding the enemy) !

THANK YOU !

EDIT: The condition is called photopsia, not photophobia, sorry for misspelling

Good to hear your eyes are fine! As for the part I highlighted in RED that is not a good idea!

Suggest you take the laser away from your little brother if the story of the accident is true and put it where he can not get it or just get rid of it. Nobody needs that happening again and your little brother clearly does not know what he is doing with a laser.

PS as others have said self-defense" blinding the enemy" is not a good idea.
