Lotemax - delays healing (so it can heal slowly) and also causes capillary dilation
ofloxacin ophthalmic - anti-bacterial
diclofenac sodium ophthalmic - anti-inflamatory

Delays healing? That bastard! :cryyy:

Oh well, I've ran out of the Lotemax anyway, so I don't think I was supposed to use it very long. They only gave me a small sample bottle of it.

When I got a piece of metal in my eye they did the same thing to me. I had one dilated and one not. I had a really hard time focusing on anything and it gave me a really bad headache. I stayed in bed most of the day with my eyes closed.

Lotemax inhibits (sterile) inflammation as well, so i guess it was given to prevent irritation after surgery. I'm not sure how long its normally used for after this type of surgery, but you should probably doublecheck its okay to discontinue using it.

The prescribe these mediactions for good reason, though i suppose its the diclofenac thats keeping you comfortable as its a reasonably powerful painkiller and often given after surgery.

Huh. They got some of the story wrong, but I guess the "how" is irrelevant, the end result is what counted.

Point it out to them.

Also they would probably appreciate your express permission to repost the picture:)

In fact if you don't mind I'll copy it and a link to it in my signature to go along with the links for safety goggles.

This is diffidently one of the most interesting threads I've read on here. Sorry that it is at the expense of xoul's eye.

I got something to add that is sort of on topic, David Bowie has a permanently dilated pupil in one of his eyes that he received from a punch by a friend when he was young. Ironically they are still friends. Although Bowies eye is dilated, he can still see out of it.

Hopefully there will be no permanent damage in your eye xoul, good luck!

So far - still have the blind spot. Other than that, vision seems normal. I'm going for my next follow up tomorrow. Still haven't found out the names of the surgical procedures yet, I'll try to get that tomorrow. I will let you know what is said about the blind spot, and if he thinks anything further can be done.

I'm happy to report that I also have a pair of Eagle Pair 190-540nm safety glasses on the way.

Well.... to be honest it's far too late for that. But they arrived yesterday and I feel much safer now. :) These things are trippy as hell when you wear them outside during the day. It feels like you're in a dream or something.
