Green Laser IR Questions

Hello Everyone!
I'm new around here and I just bought a green laser so I do have some questions about the IR.

Bought the True Green Laser (5mw) from DX.

From what I read around DX board, a 5mw laser is safe, so I should'nt worry too much about IR.

1- Is it 100% safe to use it to point to star outside? (Don't have any google)

2- Is it safe to point it outside at other house? Let say accros the street. (Will there be any IR that get back to my eyes)

3- Is it safe to use it indoors, in my bedroom, pointing it on the wall? (Or IR will get back to my eyes from reflecting on the wall)

4- Is it safe to beam on the ground, directly to my feet?

5-I suppose it not safe to point it across a window? (From my room, to beam in the street)

6- And finally, what about using it while it's snowing? (Will the snow reflect IR)

If someone could answer me, It would kinda secure me of the danger of the IR.

And IF, for any reason, the beam get to someone. Does a 5mw green laser  do any harm for 1 second?

Thanks (Going to sleep now:p)

P.S. For your Info, I'm 21 and will handle this with care. I'M not gonna beam my eye directly nor beam at someone else.

Safe
Safe
Safe, as long as you don't hit mirrors. Even after you hit a mirror it wouldn't matter much.
Safe, just don't stare at it TOO long, it will cause a dot to disrupt your vision for a few minutes (still nothing serious).
Since it's 5 mW, it's not much to worry about. Not much is being reflected back at you.
5 mW in the snow will never hurt you.

It is safe to point all lasers <5 mW into an eye. Although you shouldn't be trying to point it at anyone, the person being hit (You or another) will blink their eye instantly, causing no permanent damage.

5 mW is almost never anything to worry about.

Ok Thanks! Now, just have to hope it will be a True 5mw. Some people say they can pop and burn thing with them. (Output is not that well regulated I suppose)

Balloon popping is 40-50 mW. Burning (matches) is 100 mW+! I don't think they would mess up that badly ;).

I received 2 of the "5mw" true pens from DX, while one of them appeared atleast somewhere closer to the 5mw side of things, the other one will cut through e-tape almost as fast as my KD 50mw. Now, neither one of these appear to be the same model as the true 5wm newwish pen I received from dx a while back, but I have not pulled either of the new pens apart to see if they have a newwish module in them.

IR is no big deal with lasers, it is very safe in these pen lasers, since the design minimizes the leak. Also, if it was spewing IR, there wouldn't be so much green ;)

I purchased one of those as well back in September. It turned out to be 55mW of green and IR. However, the True 5mW lasers that DX is selling now definitely look different (I bought some as Christmas gifts) and are definitely not nearly as strong.

The two that I mentioned purchasing were order on 1/17, while the previous one I had was purchased at the beginning of november. I would take some pictures of them, but I only have the overpowered one left, as the other two ended up being gifts.
