I brought my sterling silver laser through tsa in my carry on. The tsa agent made it seem like my laser was the size of a bat lol. But he was cool. he looked and me before he actually saw may laser and said "hey, you trying to bring a beat stick on my plane". After that we talked and joked for a bit then he let me go on my way.

I went to South America last year and brought a hell of a lot of lasers

about 10-15 pens
a 1.5W 445nm (blord 501B)
The Laser pictured to the left
And a few small handhelds
About 5 18650 batteries

To my surprise there were no problems either way, however all but one pen were in my luggage so it isn't checked as much.

I'm going to attempt to take a laser or two to the Grand Canyon to shoot pics of it crossing, and so forth....so, within the next few days, I should get a first hand impression of TSA's and perhaps the Park Service's take on this issue.

I want to see this. I've been thinking there should be a thread where you post pics of lasers at famous landmarks, obviously landmarks where a laser will be tolerated, may not want to shine one at the top of the space needle for example. maybe FROM the space needle

That would be cool! Just let me know when you post those pics:)
