Hey if im using a green laser (100mW), should i be wearing 532mW blockage or IR blockage? which would be more harmful to your eyes? I hear that the green in more dangerous, but you can see it so its more avoidable while IR spreads out like a flashlight style (some have said it goes in a beam like the green, im not sure).
If i do hit a reflection or accidentally get a little bit in my eye what glasses would be recommended?
Also I have a 100mW red - i hear that there is NO IR, so what kind of glasses for that laser as well?

Contact Things and get some of his Broad Band goggles. PM and check out www.laserchat.org, he frequents there. they go for about $65 and cover Blu-ray, Green, and Red with a OD of 4 i believe. They are really cool looking to.

If you have a good laser with a built in IR filter in it all you should need are 532nm 1.7+ OD(rounding up). This would reduce the intensity of a direct eye shot to that of a 5mW laser. You don't want the beam to linger (that could cause permanent damage :'() but brief flashes (1-2 seconds) should only create temporary sunspots  in your vision. It would still allow you to see the dot though. If you'd rather be on the safe side go OD 4. (but you may have trouble seeing the dot if your laser mode hops.) Don't buy a laser without an IR filter until you have broadband protection.
