If your camera has a hard time focusing, put some objects in there and light the room a little with a flashlight. If your camera has one of those orange lights, It should focus.

If you have a sony video camera with nightshot, that will work excellently.

Thanks. Much appreciated.

What about these? LASER SAFETY GOGGLES 625-850nm on eBay.ca (item 380169292720 end time 14-Aug-10 11:21:50 EDT)

They cover the whole spectrum I need; but can I trust Aixiz to make decent goggles? I see in the Companites thread they are having some serious issues with their diodes. I'll pay for real protection, but I don't want to throw my money away on junk that'll give me a false sense of security.

I dont see anyhing like you claim to be reading in any section about AixiZ.

You dont happen to work for the company that sells the lasers you seem to be so happy with, do you???

If you will take the time to read what IS posted about AixiZ you would already know thier rep..

My Spam alarm just went off---

Yes, I took 4 pix and each one looks like a pic of a jellyfish. Big round bluey-purple circle with a pink rim and kind of pinkish dot in the middle.

I can probably figure out how to post one if that would help. :)

That's not focused. So long as you don't hold it close to your eye and stare in it you'll be fine. Short glances at an unfocused beam like that is fine. Just close your eyes when you bring it near your face. That one also seems to have two different infrared wavelengths.

Don't be an *ss. It's obviously a real question.
How am I being an ass??

the OP is incorrect
there are no such posts about diode probs-

there have been many posts giving AixiZ a good rep--

nothing is 'obvious'

Chuck has a PHD and holds several laser patents
If you did a search on Dr. Charles Maricle you would know that.
time will tell--

Jkitty how about a intro post in the welcome section?----:)

Thanks Uranium, that's a relief.

That one also seems to have two different infrared wavelengths.

Really? It's only supposed to be 2 830 nm diodes.

Well, it's doing something, so it wasn't a ripoff in any event! Got it strapped to my neck right now... aaaah.

I have tried low power amounts of red hene on a few sores that would not heal. Some times it helps, some times it does not. Not a scientific test, ie just illuminate half a long thin cut for 20 minutes. Some times I'd see a result with the illuminated area at LOW powers and long durations.
It could be psychological, and it could be physiological. Who knows.

The 3 wavelength NASA sponsored low near IR- high near IR- deep RED led panel is a proven winner in proper studies. 808 is close to the one wavelength used in that study.

I just cringe at things like the "Scaler Wave Laser Hair Comb"

I figure anything that makes you feel better that's not interfering with real treatments/causing harm--real or imagined--is a good thing, especially with pain.

If you're concerned about infrared to your eyes, I'd get some goggles like these. They're not certified, but probably just fine for the power levels you're dealing with. You can also buy these certified ones. They're more expensive, but certified at their ratings.
