In another thread someone asked if anyone had timed how long it would take a >1W laser to compromise a pair of eBay glasses.
This information is only for the pair I have and as there are so many variations in the breed, do not use this as a safety guide.

Laser
Rick Trent 2.750 W 445nm.
Glasses, all that's on them is made in china.
Laser on low power 138mw none got through zero reading on LPM.
Laser on High power 2.750 W readings started at 250mw instantly and burn through was in 5 seconds.

This is what the glasses looked like after.

Don't use cheap Chinese glasses.
If someone had been wearing these glasses they would have received eye damage; before they could blink.

now try it on a $30 pair will do the same ! right ,I have a $30 pair and I use my cheap ones, all glasses are just for flash back not holding beam on them, but some are not laser glasses just safety glasses. I know the ones I sale you can not see the beam even at night if you have them on .I would like to see some test a $30 or more test to see what they do, my wife got me my $30 pair so I can not burn hole in them :yabbem:
you right First be safe-second have fun

Can you take a vid while placing the glasses in front of your LPM sensor and shining the laser onto the glasses?

These glasses where something like $8, don't remember exactly. Sold by HDE.
Your right rick the glasses you sell with your lasers work, I use them most of the time with the blues as my other orange glasses fluorescing bothers my eyes.
I'll try to do a video but I don't like to put my camera where it might get hit by a reflection from Ricks blue beast.
One hit and it would be done.

I found I couldn't repeat the earlier results with the laser in the clamp. This I believe is do to a bloom of carbon forming at the start when the beam hits the plastic. In the earlier test I was holding the laser in my hand and focusing at the same time. This led to a broader area being melted and allowed the beam to penetrate before the bloom could form. The hole was much larger in the first test 4.15mm and just a pinhole for the second.

I am quite impressed with how long these glasses stood up to this level of power. The glasses let no light pass till failure. So for 445nm these will save your eyes from a strike.

First hole is the one the arrow is pointing to

This is the hole with the laser in the clamp

This is the video of the second test, it's on Photobucket just click on the pic
The LPM is on high mode and reads 10 as 1 so put a zero on the readings.

You'll see a flash about 5-10 seconds in this is where the first test penetrated.
