I think 99% of people with laser pointers are idiots, the one's that aren't, end up here.
The one's who aren't on here, are usually jackasses who buy them for the novelty purpose of blinding somebody while they are driving for a good laugh.

I have seen videos of people driving while lasing other cars, people burning their skin, people lasing crowds from balconies, people lasing up their nose, etc. The idiosity never ends.
I tell people that I am a laser enthusiast and they say "oh, are you one of those people like in the news who shine lasers at planes"? Grrr.

Yesterday I saw a group of kids with a green laser, They was pointing It randomly at the Cars and buildings. It looked 10mW to me.
One of the kids took it and looked directly into the beam. Yes that true, My eyes just popped out at that moment

This is exactly the reason I'm kind of happy they're cracking down on laser pointers. Sure, it ruins our fun (Although, the smart people can build their own), but it helps prevent retards like these from buying 50mW lasers on the street.
I was once in the passenger seat on the way home from dinner one night, and the laser must have reflected off the windscreen right into my face.
It was definitely more than 5mW.
Besides, if you're tricky, you can always get a high powered module and add a battery pack. Completely legal, portable, and still high powered
5mW lasers definitely exist, like the Core from WickedLasers (Which is a great laser, by the way).
I know the electronics shops around here sell <1mW green pointers (typical newwish pens) for $99 :O

Jake you're a better man than I because I probably would have kicked that guy's ass for doing that. If I had one of my 445s I don't think I could have stopped myself from returning fire. I wonder if we could borrow yobresal's 2W monster and take a road trip to the coast. :eg:

the most powerful laser i have had yet was a 10 mw greenie, but i think ima look into a 1W+ 445 to scare the living shit out of anybody who points one at me, i'll also get lots of new glasses for me and freinds.
