This story just broke overnight. The pilot in the Asiana Arilines disaster at SFO says he was blinded by a bright light when he was at 500 feet. According to the black box (and the NTSB) that was when the problems began, with various autopilot buttons getting pushed all over the place.
The news stories today are all about laser pointers and how easy it is to bring down a place with one of those things.
Since I'm new here, I don't know for sure that someone hasn't already mentioned this, but I looked and couldn't find anything.
