Ah, so you're the one responsible for that putrescent host. I'd tell you to shove it up your ass, but it has some very nasty jagged edges now. Even Im not that spiteful.

I'm guessing 3 seconds with a soldering iron would have solved the entire problem.
Just a note here, Mohrenberg makes affordable components.
He does this because he is a good guy.
There are a lot of people even on this forum that would have charged 5X as much for the host/heatsink combination.
The fact that you got your laser for <$200 says it all.
Can't bash him for something he brought to the forum allowing people to build a laser on a budget.
You need to go spend a couple hundred bucks and get a shrink to fix that problem of yours

The host had many flaws. 3 seconds with a soldering iron..Of course I tried that. It was FUBAR. But it was a good learning experience. I figured out how Im going to construct the driver circuit and pill of my next victim. It will be fully heatsunk(that a word?) and invulnerable to any kind of mortal wrath.

Also, I did forget to take my meds today. I thought my agitation was simply due to me consuming nothing but coffee the past couple days. :tsk:

Still they are lasers, and I can damn right hate him for it.

If a person is capable of intentionally smashing a laser to bits, it means he's missing that little thing called enthusiasm which makes us all love these things and spend money on them.

Which in turn means he should find another hobby.

So YOU broke the laser by trying to improve it, but threw a tantrum because you couldnt. Then message me like i'm an asshole? I made it very clear that you were buying a project, and that things could be improved despite the fact the laser worked great AS IS.
