Hey guys!

I was out playing around with my new laser that I got from JetLasers.

I had a (very) short exposure on the right eye from a reflection in a mirror... It's not like I have blindspots, but I'm a little worried - Now, a few minutes after the exposure I've gotten a slight headache.

So I tested the googles with the laser afterwards, and some of the green bleeds thorough the googles (if I put the googles between the laser and a wall, some green will still show on the wall) - So I'm worried that I might not have been protected enough.

Should I go see an eye-specialist in the morning?

If you are worried, go ASAP!! Chances are you were just a little dazzled, and you will get over it soon. The goggles definitely took out a good most of the power, but a direct hit can still cause damage

Thanks for the quick reply CameronJP.

I can only go to the ER at this hour - and chances are pretty low that they would have an eye specialist on duty - but I will go to the hospital first thing tomorrow.

Meanwhile I have been reading alot, and I found some information stating that I could get inflammatory damage in the eye because of swelling (I would imagine that this could be a cause for headache aswell?) - so I have taken some painkillers that are antiinflamatory to off-set it as much as I am able to.

Hopefully your eye will be perfectly fine!!

And a good reminder to us all that these lasers can get very scary, very fast! Not toys!!

Be safe everyone!!!

Sorry to hear that. Better get your eye checked up asap. What goggles were you using?

Yeah the goggles you were using will make a big difference. How bright is the green laser dot through the goggles?

judging from this you're probably just dazzled, and your head hurts from the sudden extreme brightness. If you have a good pair of goggles I'm sure you are ok. There's alot of factors to consider however. can't hurt to get a checkup, but the easiest way to check yourself is to setup a fine white grid on an LCD screen and look at the center and blink, parts of the grid will be distorted if you have eye damage typically.
