50mw Green No IR filter... Too strong for cat?

Hi everyone,

I have an awesome cat named Zeke, who loves to play with lasers.
Ive been using a 5mw red keychain laser (5 dollars at grocery store)

Im not sure if the 50mw is actually going to be 50mw or not because I have no testing equipment, and I have no idea how bright
Its going to be indoors yet since I dont have any other lasers...

Will 50mw be too bright or harmful for my cat?
Will the IR that it is putting out be harmful for my cat?
Should I stick with 5mw cheap reds for my cat?

What do you guys use for your cats?

For safety of your cat I wouldn't use that 50mW for a toy, get a 5mW greenie instead to play with your cat. My cats don't play with lasers because they are old and unplayful, but I use a 5mW green for my pet ducks and they love it.

I wouldn't even bring it close. Five mW is considered the point where a laser cannot cause permanent damage, anything higher than that could be trouble. 50mW is way too strong, I wouldn't even use a 10mW pointer with a cat just because they are moving so fast that it can easily end up in their eye.
