Well I have been playing around with this laser all weekend at the lake and it has been fun. When I first received this laser It tested with a peak output of 113mW. I used the laser for probably 20 minutes over the weekend and now the peak is >140mW. This laser seems to prefer it cold VS my PGL-III-C 473nm which likes it warm. I am hesitant to do anything over 30 seconds duty cycles because it is 80 degrees Fahrenheit here and the laser seems to be behaving wildly because of it. It requires no warm up time and goes straight to maximum output. It then drops off to 100mW after the first 30 seconds because of changing form mode TEM00 to mode TEM01. I am not going to push it longer than that. For this reason I am worried about the longevity of this laser...especially heading into the summer season (and seeing what happened to RA's laser) Here are some pictures as well as a video of the power output. I will try to get more shots for you guys. Sorry for the lame review but I am dead tired after this weekend and barely had enough energy for this much.

It seems like you got a really good one.
It's a shame mine is a dud. I was really hoping to enjoy some blue light over the weekend as well, but I will have to wait for a replacement.

Would you mind checking the current draw from batteries for me (to get a comparison)?

Looks like the current draw from batteries is 1.9A

Sweet laser dude, nice output! My PGL-C prefers it warm as well, but too warm and power drops. Im gonna resurrect my review thread with my latest power tests, seems to be doing even better than when I got it in!

Thanks. I get 1.64A.

I thought it would be a bit low. It seems that the technology has improved significantly, considering the kind of power portable DPSS is now capable of.
My PGL-III-C 532 draws 2.2A.

Yeah same with my C unit. I am still up in the air as to which I like better. The PGL-III-C has a current draw of 1.82A

Thanks, I will try to get better beam shots. Also I should note that the power was much more stable last night after it cooled down. Still all the way up to 140mW but it lingered there for much longer than the test as shown in the video.

LOL, It sure does. I want to get another one now. If I do it will be a PGL-III-M series though and it will not have any of the safety features.

You should go for it man, it really is a great wavelength, and now you can get one rated at 100mW!!! Add in the overspec factor, and you could be looking at 130+mW of 589nm:D

I suffered through all the post building here. It seems that you are experiencing power drop from heat after a few minutes of opperation.
My 473's show a warming power drop problem too.
