Thanks Mike, Good information! I don't think I ever saw that effect with my Kenometer, but it, sadly has recently gone south for the second time. I may get Igor to take the ddisplay and sensor and re-build it a new op-amp. -Glenn

I think I've said this like ten times, if it weren't for the price, I'd consider it. If somebody said "here's one for %50 off" I'd think about it, lol.

Glenn -- The Kenometer is built with proven components -- time tested. I don't know why yours is acting that way.

Are you asking me Rangedunits? I would be glad to review an RPL! I don't have an RPL, but I think if I could get either at the same output power and the same cost, I would pick The Spyder I. I like the no key and slick interlock better and the aperture glass is a good improvement as well. I just like the looks of about all the Wicked lasers better than other similar products but the new features are also well thought out. ;) -Glenn

If the Spyder I is as stable as these reviews suggest, with such good beam specs, the price is quite fair actually. So many people think that there is no difference between a green laser from o-like and a green laser from Laserglow, Optotronics and now Wicked as well. Nothing could be further from the truth. If a laser powers up to full power with no warmup, displays no mode-hopping or any other instability no matter how warm it gets, it is worth the extra money IMO. Whether or not it's worth it to you is another matter, but we're not talking o-like or rayfoss type stuff here.

Hey Glenn...

Nimrod's DIY Laser Power Meter Thread is still on the Forum...
You can easily build the Amplifier for the Coherent Head...
Or maybe Ken can replace the amp board in the Kenometer...

@mike... the LaserBee I or my Newport 1825-C does not exibit this "overshoot" characteristic.
But as you say... my Scientec does exhibit the "overshoot"...

I want to tell everybody of a couple of joys here, I just got back my LPM, it had a problem, but the incredibly kind Kenom has fixed it and it seems to be right where it was when working before. (It again agrees very well with readings of both the copper heat sinked and very stable Red and Blu-ray lasers I have made by Flamingpyro, also an incredibly great guy btw, and metered on his Laserbee). I am so happy and relieved to have a good working meter again!

Another great thing, is my review Spyder I Pro may be "burning in" as it now averages over 260 mW! I was quite sure in the first several test runs it was at about 220 mW AVG, but it now goes no lower than 140 mW and is mostly reading in the 150 to 175 mW range. This is a great laser and I am very pleased with it.

I also want to thank Wicked Lasers, and Steve, for being the only laser company so far to donate a laser to the LPF raffle, and a FDA compliant laser at that! I offered to get a raffle prize listed by all the other highest quality companies, and honestly I still don't count them out as it's early yet. But so far only daguin, IgorT and Wicked Lasers have made a firm commitment to donate complete lasers for the fund raiser! I feel this is really a great way they show they support the LPF! I really can't say enough about these great guys! Thanks all! -Glenn

Same thing could've happened with my Evo Pro. Before there was no difference in beam brightness compared to an o-like module. Now the difference is clearly visible (yes, I was using fresh batteries on both).
