My first review, so don't expect it to be the best. The picture of the warning poster and the beam at night is up. Look below
Well, I'm going to keep this fairly long and detailed. When I ordered it, the shipping was great. Kind of pricy, so use wicked2010 coupon code for 10% off. Only 3 days after I ordered, (I live in Austin, Texas, ordered on Sunday) it arrived by UPS. It arrived at my front door, not the mailbox. It came in a UPS red/black/white wrap. After opening it, it came in a box that said Wicked Lasers that's pretty big. When opened, it has pink, sturdy styrofoam in it with a thin cardboard case with a slot cut in it to show the wicked lasers name on the main laser box, which is plastic.
It came with a power chart, mine averaged around 36mW and peaks around 41mW. The LED is pretty bright, most of the times I don't really notice it, since the beam just amazes me. In a fully lit room, the beam is 9% visible, a dim room is around 17%, in a dark room with a black wall to shine your dot on, the beam is just amazing. It can pop balloons within 2 seconds from 2 feet away. It can smoke black leather, rip black plastic, smoke a black plastic tape dispenser after a few seconds. Like they said, the dot is around 1.5mm from about a foot away. About 5 meters away, it's around maybe 4/5 an inch or so. Note that the beam can not really be seen at an outlet mall, unfortunately. Still, overall the laser is really good when it comes to brightness and decent power. Could be a little cheaper, though.
Now, the battery life is pretty good too. It said it lasts around 90 minutes but can last up to 120 for me with 1000mAh rechargeable Ni-mh batteries. Be aware of the duty cycle, which is kind of annoying. Remember, use it only for a minute before waiting 10 seconds.
Now, how to clean the laser. It's fairly simple. Take a normal q-tip and take some pliers to peel off some cotton from the thick middle part so it will fit in far enough to rub the lens gently. Be sure not to touch the cotton part though. After cleaning, take the pliers again and pull out the excess cotton around the outside of the lens. You can also take a thin end syringe and pump so air after washing the syringe and letting it dry out. Well, that's all I got to say. I'm putting up the link of its awesome beam and it smoking a leather wallet today. Unfortunately, I don't have any balloons. Well, thanks for reading.
