Re: Wicked Lasers Krapton "1W"

Man I would love one at that power! That is intense. Look at the name on the power certificate. LOL

It would be easy to falsify large amounts of reports like these. Generate random numbers between 1000 and 1100 with no more than 5 difference from the previous number. Probably less than 20 lines of code.

Re: Wicked Lasers Krapton "1W"

If WL wanted to be 100% truthful about their Kryptons, they should create 5 minute power graphs instead of 30 second graphs.

I'm guessing most, if not all, Kryptons have a warm up period and are extremely unstable like mine...

I agree... especially knowing about the deceitful WL practices in
the past...

Here is a 20 second Graph of a 445nm in a plain Axiz housing
powered by an LM317 Current regulated supply.

Sorry I don't have a Video of the tests.......

The only way to prove that this Graph was not doctored
would be with a video of the test showing the Laser under
test and Graph being produced...

Do you see how easy it is to pull the wool over the average
buyer's eyes.....

Yeah you missed something...

1) the 445nm was only in a plain Axiz Module (no heatsinking)
2) the Driver was an LM317 (Max out out ~1.5Amps)
3) the Max output of the LD on the graph was 3.199 Watts

That...... is Highly unlikely.....

The graph is ficticious.... and there is no way I can prove the
graph is genuine without that test being properly recoded on
video.

@romogracie

I agree, it would be mucher better to do a graph for several minutes on a laser like than, rather than 30secs. I'm not sure what they used to create or generate that graph, as that is not at all what comes off of a LabMax. Looks more like one from one of those hobby meter graphs perhaps from here. In my first post you can see what the LabMax produces.

I also see they have their meter showing 22W's, I see though they appear to be measuring a high powered labby in the picture, not a krypton, and there is no graph presented for it.

The Kryton is advertised as
"100% unlimited duty cycle. Operate the laser continuously, 24/7 with no risk of damaging the laser diode."

Yet they only show a 30 second graph :thinking"

Also, looking at the graph, it rises smoothly, peaks and begins to drop off BEFORE that 30 seconds is done.

That 30 second run is very similar to the graphs of low-powered green pointers

I wonder if they have just NEVER SEEN a power graph of a high-powered green hand held laser

If one is going to lie, one can only work with what one knows.

Of course that means nothing to the vast majority of their market.
Most of them will just see the picture and go
Ooooooooooooo  hamahamahama wannawannawanna nomnomnomnomnom

I don't know why they even worry about us so much

WE are NOT their main market

Peace,
dave

Just wanted to post a couple of quick pics of the Krypton with one of my Melles Griot Beam Expanders properly mounted onto it with a custom made adapter.
