Nice review anyways..

Let's take a look at a couple of other high-powered name brand 532nm Lasers.

Endeavor >275mW (my unit is 305mW Average)
Cost $689.00 using UPS Express it's + $32.99 + UPS Brokerage fee + Customs Duty.
3 Months Warranty.

Hercules-700 (700mW-749mW)
Cost $3,789.00 + $65.00 Express shipping + Mandatory Insurance $55.34 + Brokerage fee + Customs Duty.
6 Months Warranty.

Hercules-750 (750mW-799mW)
Cost $4,589.00 + $65.00 Express shipping + Mandatory Insurance $67.34 + Brokerage fee + Customs Duty.
6 Months Warranty.

NONE of these Lasers are currently in-stock and ready to be shipped anyway.

Krypton 1W (my unit is 712mW Average)
Cost $899.95 + $40.00 Express Shipping, no extra fee required for insurance; in case something goes wrong WL guarantees to replace or refund 100%.
No Brokerage or Customs Duty fee's, for the USA at-least.
Currently 100+ units in-stock and ships within days.
12 Months Warranty.

Great laser!!!! Nice output. 1) I don't know what these guys are talking about saying that it is underspec. The website clearly states the output range of this laser to be 500-1000mW. This laser IS IN SPEC. Did you guys read the technical specs for this laser? I've noticed lately that people either do not know the listed specs of the lasers or they just refuse to acknowledge them because the laser is listed as 1000mW instead of
"500-1000mW Kryton" I guess it can be pretty confusing.

It would actually be more like buying a car that has 250-500 HP. But yes that is a good analogy. 2) If I were buying a car and I saw it listed in the paper as "500HP Sports Car" and then read the article explaining that the horsepower could be anywhere between 250HP-500HP then I would make my decision to purchase the car with the expectation that it would be in that range. If it was not in that range then there would be an issue.
3) I just reviewed my E3 from WL and it is 160mW....am I pissed off that it is not 300mW? no. I read and accepted the fact that it would be between 150-300mW.

Let's stop talking about cars and beer. Let's just stick with the lasers.
If you are claiming that none of the Krytons are 500-600mW or 850-1000mW then you are mistaken. They sell Krytons with output powers all over the range of 500-1000mW. It would make sense that the majority have an output that falls in the middle.4) That actually supports the argument that the range they have listed is accurate. If the majority had an output of 500-750mW then I would be more concerned with the accuracy of the published range.

1) When a company advertises that there product is a 1Watt output
Laser and it is NOT then their advertised Laser output is a LIE...

2) If I were buying a car that was advertised as 500HP I would expect
the car to output 500HP. If it did not... It is a LIE.
If the seller adds small print to cover the fact that his car will never
output 500HP then he is a crook and/or Thief...

3) If you are not pissed off because you Laser outputs ~50% of what
was advertised for the 300mW price then I'm happy for your accepting
nature.
I would be pissed off because my money would still be worth 100%
of it's value and I would expect a 100% advertised output Laser...

Even Lazerer can do it.....

4) If they listed their range as 1mW to 2000mW for the Krypton would
you still feel satisfied paying 100% of the asking price and receiving a
10% output Laser....

Come on Yob....

They are asking Full Price Payment for a 1Watt laser that could be as
low as 500mW (according to their fine print).
Why should one customer get a 1000mW Laser for a Full 1W payment
and another customer should get a 500mW Laser for the same price of
a 1000mW Laser...

Do you see that simple logic...

The way you are sticking up for WL is starting to making me think there
may some yet unknown underlying reason...:undecided:

The long and the short of it is.... WL Advertises a 1Watt Laser for a
1Watt price and you could end up with a 500mW Laser and the customer
is expected to be happy and swallow that BLATANT RIPOFF...

I was asked to show the Beam Expander's I have, I can only guess why they wanted to see them all lined-up; but never-the-less no problems with that.

From Left-to-Right;

Dragon Lasers 10x, Melles Griot 3x, 10x, & 20x.

I have 3 different adapters that allow me to use these on 3 different brand Lasers. I really need to get 2 adapters made to fit the WL Krypton/Arctic.

500-1000mW? :p thats like buying a car with 100-500 HP

Well, to be fair, it is more difficult to predict the power output of DPSS lasers than the power output of an engine. They could bin them, but it's easier to just call everything 1W :p

No, all the numbered points you made are just flawed opinions. My opinion is the correct one.
I'm right and you're wrong LOL. They advertise as <1W and they label their lasers by "Max Power" anyone who reads the specs will know what they are risking.
It's time to put down the torch and pitch fork.

I think it should also be noted that Wicked Lasers is spending advertising dollars on this very forum. They have an Ad at the very top that I'm very sure everyone has seen for the Krypton 1W.

It's like biting the hand that feeds the forum, constructive criticism I can see; but when you don't even have their product and keep slamming them...........well it seems pointless.

I wonder what would happen to a seller on this forum if he started selling lasers as being .5W to 1W and the vast majority came in at around .6W-.8W, but he still charged a premium price for all the lasers:thinking:

Or what would happen to a seller who took people's money and then didn't ship anything out for months at a time?

So the question to me is, should a company be held to a lower standard or a higher one?

[rant]Fine print is not an excuse for deceptive, if not outright false advertising. Companies should be held to a higher standard, not excused for having a lower one.[/rant]

We were telling the truth about WL from the get-go... Wicked Lasers
did not advertise on the Forum until just lately... and we are still telling
the truth about their unethical advertising practices...

Just because a company that has shown itself as being deceitful and
untrustworthy comes and advertises here is no reason all the members
need to get on their knees and bow down to the new king.

I own a WL product.... I also went though the Arctic Ordering Fiasco
LIES and it has left a bitter taste in my mouth as it has done to
others on the Forum... Once bit... twice shy....

@ Yob.... Yeah.... that's my opinion....:na: ;)

@ Smeerworst.... sorry I don't get it....:undecided:

It was bought second-hand. The original owner got it at a big discount (free even, perhaps?)

Oh yeah. I remember really wishing I had bought that one when it was posted because I ended up buying one shortly after it had sold. It was up for sale for a while too. I am filled with regret. Poop.
