G'day,

Got my Mitsubishi 500mW ML501P73 today!
I had been waiting to put this in my Ultrafire C2 for over 6 months and today was the day.

I decided to use a 16 mode driver that had 3x AMC7135 drivers, giving 1050mA on high mode.

Bobhaha made the heatsink for this host, which is larger than your average heatsink.
I used a copper module with thermal paste between diode and module and module and heatsink.

with that setup and a aixiz glass lens coated for red, it made ~600mW on high, 200mW on Medium and 30mW on Low.

With a 650-G-1 it made ~850mW on high, 300mW on Medium and 45mW on Low

Now that was high power, but i wanted to break the 1W barrier.

So, i added 2x AMC7135 chips to my driver giving it 1750mA on High.

This is the result:

1297mW PEAK!

I wonder how long she will live for?

Thanks for looking!

Wow way cool... I'll be very interested in the longevity of the diode, I wouldn't have been brave enough to run it past 1.4 amps even with a huge heatsink!

Imma get me one of these diodes on Friday... I have a few hosts waiting for a build.

How much time do you have on this at 1.75A?

I'm thinking of running at 1.6A... Or 1.2A if that is smarter.
