This particular poll is ONLY for the LED Shoppe 50mw Green Laser Pointer

(the poll itself is just for non-pot-modded spec-levels, you can note in a reply to this thread if you later pot-modded it)

NOTE: If you own more than one of these, you can vote more than one choice, but I don't think it will let you vote the same choice twice, so if you have more than one of these and some are the same spec-level, then add a reply to the thread stating how many you have/had at the same spec level.

ALSO: If your laser changes it's spec-level after you voted please add a reply to this thread stating such, for example: my initial vote was "moderately overspec" but after about five weeks it is now "slightly underspec".

This is an ongoing poll where new buyers of the LED Shoppe 50mw Green Laser Pointer can add their vote after they receive it, in the meantime, those who already have (or used to have) an Ledshoppe 50mw Green Laser Pointer can go ahead and vote now.

Those who have had theirs for a while can vote on what the spec-level is now, and then note in a reply to this thread if it was a different spec-level when you first got it. (this means just normal use changes, and not from pot-modding)

Thanks for taking the time to vote, it is appreciated !

(those who wish to post seperate threads with a spec-poll for other specific models of laser pointers are welcome to use my same 1 - 7 spec-level format as I did with this one)

my led was very bight. but i had to heat it up first.
I mean heat it up a good amount. not just by using it but i would it it under my laptop and when i turned it on it had an amazing beam. it was even able to burn a few things.
Maybe this is unhealthy due to having to heat it up but it worked great.

After reading several positive reviews of the LED Shoppe 50mw it was a VERY big disappointment when mine finally arrived and even with fresh batteries it was dimmer than a 5mw I already owned.

Someone said on another thread where I was discussing this: "This is the third review I've read that they are dim underspec units"

.....if this is just a coincidence of several people getting bad LED Shoppe 50mws recently or if their product quality has now declined I do not know.

Has anyone recently gotten a good LED Shoppe 50mw green, say within the past month or two ?

It is commendable that LED Shoppe said they would replace it if I sent the old one back first, and they said they would reimburse me for return shipping, but it is still a disappointment and a hassle after already waiting so long to have to go thru all that.

This experience is a real turn-off from ordering things from overseas, because of the initial wait time, then if you get a defective unit you have to wait again for the time it takes to get the defective unit to get shipped back to them, and then wait a long time again for a replacement to get back to you.

Has anyone had to return a defective LED Shoppe 50mw green in order to get a replacement and if so was the replacement actually up-to-spec ?

(it would really be frustrating if after returning a defective one they would send another one that was still not up to spec)

Added note: I just checked and it would cost me $27.25 postage to return the defective one to LED Shoppe, and even though they said they would reimburse my return shipping costs I don't know I want to risk it (and really can't afford to pay that up front not having any guarantee I would get it back anytime soon) since this was my first experience with them and I have no guarantee they will indeed reimburse $27.25 and if they don't then I would be out that plus still have no guarantee of getting an up-to-spec replacement. I'm on a fairly tight budget and can't simply afford to risk not getting reimbursed all my return shipping cost.

Has anyone else had to return a defective laser to LED Shoppe and if so did they reimburse your full cost for return shipping, and if so, was it reimbursed very fast, and how, via PayPal or just a store credit ?

I voted for slightly overspec (66 mW if i recall), but that pointer was bought quite some time ago, so it could be different from the current model.
