I received the Evolution Pro from Wicked Lasers today , of course i couldn't wait to nicely open the wrapping and box so it was a pink mess..
I will add pictures once i get my camera back home. I took some pics with the iphone , but yuck , i was too embarassed to post them since ive seen others posting their professional pictures
So , on to the review part of it all :
It came with a power graph that gave a mean reading of 147.7 and 158.5 max. which means it stays pretty stable and doesnt fluctuate really high then lowers too far. Thats a good sign.
The packaging was very nice and definitely kept it safe from its long trip around the world in 48 hours. From China to California.
Onto the feel:
Its hefty and not your normal "pointer" it has a preformed grip along the body that allows for a good solid handling and feeling. The button depression seems smooth and not as if it's going to stop clicking after too many depresses.
The construction and visual appeal:
Its all black and has all the marking in the right places. the front has a glass cover that the actual beam travels through and protects the module inside from dust, hence a dust cap. On the other end is has a safety pin that will disable its operation if removed. This is what may allow it to be FDA complian for sale in the US.
I quickly took it outside and noticed that the beam stayed pretty thin compared to other manufacturers greens. From a leadlight pointer to an opto.
if you placed this side by side with a generic pointer you would know by first look that this one is going to be considered the bad ass of the bunch.
As far as Pricing i cannot comment as to each their own on what they consider a good deal. I personally think that this laser stands out enough to warrant a premium not only on the beam quality but in the extra attention given to visual appeal, construction, and style.
Burning performance.. YES it burns . Sharply!
I will update this with pictures as soon as i get them.
Thank you for reading this and i hope you get a true feeling of what the Wicked Lasers Evolution Pro is all about.
