YouTube - LikeItBright 300mw red laser

Pro's:
Extremly Strong!
Burns many kinds of materials.
Matches and baloons are no match for this laser.
Small!
Build Quality!
Batteries charge very quickly.(30~45 minutes for a full charged up battery)

Con's:
Very short battery life. After about 1 minute of shining, the mw's are decreasing dramaticly.
A "line". When you focus the dot to be small, you see a weird line, coming out of the dot. Likeitbright sayed this was normal, but its still a small downside for me.

Overall a pretty awesome small little laser!

I saw that you say you have under a minute of battery life, are you using the right charger for your batteries? Also, at first the line through the dot may annoy you, but this makes distance focusing for long distance burning a breeze. Instead of looking at the dot and trying to guess if it is small enough, just look to see when the line is at its thinnest.

maby the line is handy then, but i dont think it is pretty.

I use a charger, made to charge the special AA sized batteries. (4.2 volt).
The batteries are ultrafire so i dont think there is something wrong with the batteries.
This is the charger i bought:
Universal Lithium 16340/10440/14500/18650 9V Battery Charger $6.28 - Free Shipping

General, no-name brand charger. I would stick with something more reliable, you should get more than 1 minute with fully charged lithiums. Have you checked the voltage of the batteries after they are fully charged? If they're not around 4.2v then the charger is defective.

Can you guys recommend me a charger?
and it lasts for about 5 minutes. but after 1 minute, the mw's are decreasing fast.

(its 3,6~3,88 volt according to a meter of my bro)

5 minutes of lasing is really short still, I guess it is probably at a really high current, 400-450mA probably.

The ultrafire battery you have is rated at 600mAh I believe (I sell them), even if the current is set at 450mA, this equates to 45minutes of use before the charge runs out. This is assuming the 600mAh is a correct rating.

You should expect at least 20-30 minutes I'd think.

I use this charger for my ultrafire batteries, TrustFire MultiFunctional TR-001 Lithium Battery Charger [TrustFire] - $11.83 : High Tech DealZ, Simplifying the LASER Hobby!

thanks,
Kendall

If the batteries are only charging to 3.6v then the charger isn't putting out enough voltage to completely charge them.
this will make it last for only 1 minute?
Is there nothing else i could check out?

and sk8er4514, you think buying that charger will fix my problems with low battery life? :)
if yes i'l buy it :)

Yeah this means the batteries are barely getting charged. That charger from Kendall will fix your problems, in fact I have that very charger coming from him in the mail.

Sounds to me like your battery is faulty or incorrectly charged. I get full power over the time I tested the laser continuous on which was 10 minutes without powering down.

The line can be removed by aperturing the laser output before the lens, but the line is a result of the laser diode construction and I would be puzzled if it was not there on this diode type.
