This is my first attempt at writing a review so I'm gonna try my best.

On 02/13/16 I ordered a SF501B 445nm 1.5w-1.8w from sflasers.com and it arrived today.

The host is black anodized aluminum
Overall length 5.16"
Maximum diameter 1.18"
Weight 73 grams
Diode: M140/9mm 445nm
Driver: Buck driver
Lens: 3 element
Power supply: 2x 16340 batteries
Duty cycle is 60 sec On/Off

Holding the laser it feels very solid, nothing feels loose except the focus ring. Read in past posts that this is normal and is an easy fix with Teflon tape.the beam is very bright. It can be seen even in the lighted room. When focused properly it will pretty much make a hole in anything. Iv had great fun burning things. Luckily my safety glasses came first. I am really happy with my purchase. There were some snags with shipping and to be honest I was getting frustrated with the complications. The Joker stayed in constant contact with me and went out of his way to make it right. In conclusion I am a satisfied customer and would do buisness with him in the future.

I wanted to do some nighttime beam shots but wanted to make this review ASAP

As I stated before I am new to this hobby and I am trying to learn. I don't yet fully understand electronics, divergence ,etc so no need to send a negative PM about this post or if I ask for help. Trying to hold your knowledge over a beginner just makes you look foolish and could turn people away from the hobby. ( you know who you are)

This is not a review. Aside from copy-pasting of specs, the ONLY thing you have to say about it is:
The construction and beam are both great.

A review is a critical evaluation of a device and the manufacturer's claims. What you've posted here is ONE sentence based purely on opinion. "great" doesn't actually describe anything meaningfully, so we're left with nothing.

Nice start:yh: Get some videos, pictures and other facts up too. Right now this is a little lacking for being posted in reviews.

Thanks for the tips guys. I added some things and made some changes. I hope this is up to par as I couldn't think of anything else to say. I am just a jarhead not one of the great novelist of our generation.

What I try to do is not put anything in the reviews section unless I really have what Cyp suggests UNLESS I give a specific reason such as opting a lot of different diode builds all at once. It's just a good idea to put the builds or things you purchased into the appropriate thread such as 445nm, green, red etc.
Congrats on your purchase! Happy lasing and be safe.
Thank you for your service;)
USN retired.

Nice review. Just wonder if the rubber cap on the front are the same thing to the back button? :D
