ok, so this is a very short review, and sadly no pics :-[, but i got the laser from him today that was in the aluminum box, and its smaller than i imagined ;D, its great, ive been lighting matches and setting off fireworks :D, i replaced the green indicator light with a blue one  which looks very good, shipping was fast and the laser is everything i imagined and more :p, if you ever think about buying from jake21, but aren't sure, go for it, hes great , despite his spelling :p

Re: rubberband's great red burner (bought from jak

ok guys I want to get one of these tin can lasers to go with my DIY 100mW red 9which will light matches if i ask it nicely)
... as you made them can you tell me whats the max power that you can get out of these as if i can get this with 150/200mW then Ill go for it! with the pot maxed I assume diode length will be reduced, but what l life expectancy can I expect?

also does anyone know beam comparisons to a 5mw green? at night for spectators? (as you can tell Im a little into astronamy!)

cheers and thanks in advance for help.... cake for anyone who can answer all my questions!

If you mean an open can then yes, you can get it at a pretty reasonable power like 250mW pretty easily. You don't have to max out the pot...well that depends on how you build your circuit.Diode length won't be reduced but diode lifetime however will be shorter if you put more current into it (DUH)

Life expectancy I guess depends on how lucky you get and how nice you're being to it...
I think it will be brighter than 5mW green, but I'm sure you can find pictures or videos if you look hard enough.
I hope you cover shipping for the cake :p

No its not an open can (though if someone is selling one of those cheap let me know :p)

its one of Jake21's custom ones, and Im calling it tin can as that's what it looks like.... I have a confirmed report that its the same beam visibility as a 5mw green (in brightness and size therefore it can be used for stargazing) so Im more tempted....
though If anyone else has any thoughts.....

p.s.me covering the cost for shipping of said cake is dependent on ho good an answer people give :p
