Broad day, bright sunlight? Nope, I doubt any laser you can possibly buy is.

I see you have 1W 445nm laser, well this green one is about twice as bright as the blue at 1W, so you have some point of reference.

Not necessarily a summer day at noon but, you know, a "regular" day.

Mine is visible outside during dark days so I figured according to the calculator a bright green laser might be slightly visible on a regular day.

I was looking forward to a high powered greenie but if it ain't possible I'm gonna go shift my attention to those night visible 635's.

The beam from this greenie is also visible during "dark" days as you said, but "regular" day... nope, I don't think so. I'd highly reccomend this greenie over 638nm reddie, though. Visible twice as much, and beam characteristics are MUCH better (638nm is a floodlight compared to this).

But then again, it's up to personal preference. Both are kickass lasers.

Thanks for the info!

Yeah, I know their beam sucks but.. a red beam is like Darth Vader's lightsaber!
If it's nearly as visible at night as my 10mW green I'll be very happy with it :)

My 500mW 638nm reddie's beam visibility and attraction of maybe 50-60 mW greenie.

And by attraction I mean the effect you get when you don't expect the beam and see it in peripheral vision and react immediately by looking towards it.

Bluray does not have that effect for example, you must know where the beam is to be able to see it.

Cool!

Did you buy it from a store or DIY?
I'm considering this one from Lazerer, it has a very good price and guaranteed 280 mW.

BTW I got the 638nm laser and it's completely awesome!
The star cap is pretty cool as well, it seems like it has two lenses and by rotating the external one you get lots of different effects (combining it with the focus adjustment is great)!
