Hi, this is my mini review of the P19 custom focusing host i purchased from Jayrob.

Sales thread here http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/fs-p19-focusing-head-18650-kit-very-nice-host-57115.html

First of all...again first class service & workmanship from Jayrob...also insanely fast shipping to the UK.

I tried it with a A140 , but i wanted something different.

So in went a 12x 405nm :eg:

This thing burns allmost before switching on! . I set it to output 600mW Class IV.
The build, thanks to Jayrobs machining, goes together like bread and butter....if your a beginner, this is the kit for you! .

The focusing is very classy thanks to the o-ring and you just rotate the entire head to focus, no more burnt fingers ! :)

My only complaint, and i am nit picking here, is the spring that contacts the neg on the battery looks a little "lightweight" . But the clicky is protruding (which i really like) but its a stiff clicky so i doubt you'll be turning it on accidentally.

Anyways the pics :-

The kits component parts.

Another close up (assembled).

Firing! (looks like 445nm, but its 405nm) .

And of course the gratuitous power reading. :eg:

Size comparisons.

So there you have it, thanks for reading and please comment your thoughts! :)

Nice build and pics.

I've got one of his kits on the way too, and also was thinking to use a 12x 405 instead of my last 445.

Might keep that as a spare instead and go for full on burning.

Just wondered about the beam though.

Very visible?

If you max out your 12x (but this will shirten its life) then yes the beam is quite visible. I'll do some beam shots later when its dark.

Hey are all Kemometer Pro meters like that?

Or is yours a custom set up?

Nice Build you got there.;)

:gj:

Do you remember what you set your driver too.? Also what lens are you using.:)

@ Jayrob

I built it myself, Ken supplied the Arduino and LCD , i did the rest.

@Lazeerer
I didnt take current mesurement sorry, i will do today , and its an Aixiz 445nm glass lens.

Looks great. I'm waiting on one of these kits for a 445nm build. :san:

Well my diode has LED'd :( , i guess 650mW was too much for it, iv'e another on order and i'll back this one off to 500mW .

RIP

:cryyy: Man that Stinks. I had mine set to 493mW "380mA" with the 405-G-1 lens ever since i put it together more then a month ago. Just 2 nights ago i decided to bump it up and its Running at ~585mW with the 405-G-1 lens. I cant remember what my LPM test was exactly with the new bump, i have to re test it tonight.:yh:

If you think about it you were running it at 650mW with an Aixiz len. If you had a 405-G-1 lens it would be putting out around ~800mW. Witch is pretty high. On the 12x charts most of those are using the 405-G-1 lens to get the `500mW output. so the current is less.

When i had mine set to 493mW with the 405-G-1 lens and i switched it over to the Aixiz 405/445nm glass lens it reduced my output to 372mW.:scowl: That 121mW loss when using the Aixiz.

I think you should get a 405-G-1 lens so then you can reduce the current and stiil get a higher output If you are able to.

Yeah you may be right.

If put off buying the 405g-1 due to its insane price, but it may be the way to go.
