Hello.

Long time since I made a review so here is a review on the E3 532nm 300mW from WickedLasers. From the date that I placed the order to the date that I got it was in total 4 days sent with regular airmail.. (Why do I in Sweden always receive things like 10x faster the US citizens?) Not bad for being WL.

PROS:
- Very good beam quality
- Nice finish
- Fast shipping
- Nice customer support (only one of the assistants, a girl named Jeice Cruz)
- You get a nice holster
- Smooth tailcap
- Sexy host (oooooh how can I explain it.. it's so beautiful..)
- LED indicator, not really useful, but a cool pro.

CONS:

- The other customer service people are not as nice.
- Didn't come with batteries.
- No bubble wrap or anything.. Could easily have been damaged
- Underspec for sure
- The safety pin is hard to take out, and if you succeed, it will probably break.

This laser is a great green laser, even though it's underspec. I don't have a LPM but I know for sure it is underspec. It can light a match (however, it has to be high quality matches bought from stores, and no colored chinese, only red with black mark (you make it) and original black matches), pop balloons easily, and so on but I can see that it is not even 200mW.

I wouldn't recommend buying the 300mW, I recommend the 200mW version. I know two people with the 200mW laser and both of their lasers are the same as mine when it comes to power.. It seems they send out the 200mW laser even though you order the 300mW.. $100 straight down their pockets. But that is just my guess..

BUT, it can also be the batteries. I don't have any high quality AAA's at home and the batteries in the laser are just ordinary IKEA batteries that have been in use for roughly 7 months on a remote control, before I took them out and put them in the laser. SO it can be something with the batteries, they could be discharged (the remote control was getting slow the last days aswell) and the batteries aren't the best quality. I don't have any new batteries at home and I don't know how to check the voltage of batteries so (can I do it with a DMM?) yeah..

And now.. Pictures:

Beam.. (I'd estimate it's 10x brighter in reality)

As said, it could be the batteries. They have been used for a long time and they aren't the best quality originally either.. The beam+dot is about 10x times brighter in reality. I'm only using my mobile camera when taking these pics, I wish I had money for a better camera, but I hope that is enough.

I wish I could meter the laser, but I don't have a LPM and I just put all my money on some diodes and other stuff. Just if there was anyone close to Stockholm in Sweden.

Good bye:)

This laser was and still is for sale, so if you are interested, just tell me. If you have a LPM and you are interested, we could probably get to a price per mW so that you don't have to pay a lot if it's more underspec then I had expected. Or we could do a normal deal, and if it for example doesn't reach 150mW, you can just send it back and get a refund.

Thank you and have a good day! :eg:

Why doesn't the pics work? Going to the links works but they don't show here.. Strange.

Cool review. With my E3 I noticed a huge difference when going from old batteries to freshly opened batteries. Might want to try that out. Also making assumptions about laser power at these low of powers is too difficult to do accurately with all the other variables you have to take into account. It is best to just say you have no idea how powerful the laser is until you get an LPM or have someone else LPM it. What are you planning on selling it for?

You are totally right. I'm going to buy some fresh batts and see how well they perform. As for price, I have no idea. This laser could honestly be just about any power. I don't want to sell a claimed 200mW just to turn out being 120mW at the buyers LPM. So, unless anyone interested would make a offer, I have no idea.

You made me make the review, you said you wanted to see mine in your review so.. here it is.

If a remote control already starts showing problems I'm even surprised the laser ran this good on it, I'd really try a fresh set of batteries.

Anyway, very nice review! Try making and posting some beamshots of your collection, certainly if fresh batteries do improve a lot.

If you need any measurement service (or LPM) check my website in my signature or send me a PM.

Thanks for the review! If you didn't live so far away I'd offer to LPM it for you and be a middleman if needed.

I've found that battery life and overall performance can be increased with these units by using 1 rechargeable 10440 cell and a conductive spacer. You might also save some $$$ and trips to buy batteries. Definitely caused a major increase in power stability and battery life for my E3.
