I got my laser in the mail a few days ago, and it is great!
when i first got it, it didn't come with a case or batteries like it showed on the website. But for some reason, my laser was a $ or 2 cheaper than the other ones, so maybe thats why. Anyway, the dot is very bright, you can slightly see the beam inside with the lights off, and the beam is pretty clear outside in the dark. You can point this super far, i could point it at my neibors house about a half mile away. I payed 7.00$ for this laser. i would recommend it.
Yes, it really is a great deal. the laser itself has a good weight to it, which is good, and it feels sort of rubbery. The button jiggles a little, but it is a great price for 8$ I just wish mine came with a case, but maybe if you order one it might, i think it varies between the sellers on amazon.com
Also, the shipping is nothing fancy. It came in a white envelope with no padding at all except a tiny bubble wrap tube wrapped around it. So don't expect anything nice, but then agian, it varies between sellers on amazon. I might make another post after i've had it for a while to let you know if it lasts over time. Sorry no pics!
