Trustfire 16340's from Ebay
This is my first review! So the other day I bought some Trustfire 16340 batteries (2 x TrustFire TF 16340 CR123A 16340 3.7v Li-ion Rechargeable Battery | eBay) for the new laser I shall be getting some specs:
Capacity: 880 mAh (apparently)
Internal resistance : <= 120m ohm
so i have decided to post a small review! I will break it down into 2 categories and a final question.

-Shipping & Payment

-Quality

and the question... Should you buy this?

So to start off, the shipping and payment was just fine! It took around 2-3 days to be delivered to my house. Payment was made via Paypal and so was no problem at all! They were shipped in a small package containing 2 small boxes with a battery in each one. The packaging was not damaged nor tampered with as expected. :yh:

Secondly, The quality. As I have not yet tested
these batteries in the laser, (will update asap) I would say so far so good. They are well made and charged Fine in my Nitecore Intellicharger I2.
According to the charger they were around 1/3 of charge already. They look great and do not have any defects so far. :D

So should you buy this product?
In my opinion yes! It is a decent price (£5.99) and from what I see so far is a decent product! Thanks for reading!

any questions or opinions? please feel free to let me know!

UPDATE!: Tested in sf501b and work like a charm!

I too have some Trustfire batteries, two pairs of them in two sizes and I have no complaints. Many people here say avoid any with fire in the name but I think they are not all the same. I think it's mostly Ultrafire that are the low quality ones, especially the ones with the blue label, they are far below the stated capacity, I am certain of this beyond any doubt, I have Ultrafire in three sizes, the ones with the blue label don't last long, the 18650s I have with the red/silver label seem to be OK but I am not so sure of their 3000mAh.

I have also heard about not getting batteries with fire in the name but from reviews there was no signs of blowing up and having problems.

Could just depend on luck I guess.

LOL

Of course it depends on luck. If NONE of them EVER worked, the scam would fall apart.

:D

Its the clones/knock-offs that are the problem. If your supplier has the real ones, you're good to go.

Isn't this variation because the crap ones are actually fake ultrafires? The Chinese are notorious for ripping each other off so there are no doubt "proper" ultrafires and then the fakes which the market is saturated with.

I guess that could be the reason I don't know. There are fake products of expensive brand names that come out of China like fake watches, handbags, clothing and accessories etc. but I have a hard time imagining how labeling cheap batteries Ultrafire would help sell more batteries. They are the cheapest batteries, wouldn't they label them with a more expensive brand name? I do however have some 16340's that were sold as Ultrafire but have no brand name on the label, and they are the worst batteries I have. I don't know for sure what to think, but one explanation could simply be no quality control. It is common in Chinese factories for the workers to have to work very fast and work 12 hour days and be paid very little. I once saw a documentary a few years ago about a clothing factory in China, nearly all the workers were teenage girls who made a maximum of about $75 a month and they all lived in a building connected to the factory with about 8 girls to a room with bunk beds, their working conditions were terrible, it's not surprising they can sell stuff so cheap and that it's so often low quality.

I have also heard about not getting batteries with fire in the name but from reviews there was no signs of blowing up and having problems.

I also have 4 ultrafire batteries, one of them died after a few days.

Last time i searched for new batteries that i could use with my laser, i came across a ton of ultrafires with capacities up to 9000 mAh, which obviously is bs.

All the thousand reviewers were giving the maximum rating, most of them, probably didnt have any idea what they were buying anyway.

Because i was unsure, i googled for ultrafire and found a thread on a forum with a few people whos ultrafires had blown up, thats where i decided to look for something else.

On the other hand, my ultrafires are not some 9000 mAh labed bs, these are only 2400 mAh which seems to be right, on top of that i just noticed that one of them even has a protection which i never noticed, so it really could be that there are some "real" ultrafires which arent bad in any way.

The problem is, how do you tell the difference, if there are hundreds of ultrafire fakes out there.

The only way to know is to buy them and test them which is why I recommended these cells to the OP, as they have protection and came in at 660mAh. They run my 1W 445nm just fine.

Sure everyone who can should test them, but i guess most people dont care at all.
They will just buy something that is rechargeable and thats it.

Btw i should have said, i was talking about 18650s, not 16340.
If someone wondered about the mAh.
