This is a quick-and-dirt review of "30mW" DinoDirect green laser, (A08780000B).
First, it arrived in a "recycled" envelope (means, the envelope was re-used and closed with metallic points (not so much professional, imho).
Second, the item arrived is NOT the item depicted in the site (different style, finishing and marks on the laser body, different tailcap, different model written on it too)
Laser and included NON-rechargeable battery, inside the envelope, was discretely squished as usual
Tried it, both with the enclosed battery and with a fresh-charged trustfire cell, the laser was extremely poor in power (metered 24mW of green without IR filter, that drops to 14mW with an IR filter, in the better measure), than in mode-hopping (all the times you push the switch, it quickly change from at least 4 different modes in less than 2 seconds, ending with an oval spot TEM01) ..... other than this, the divergence is almost horrific, being the beam 1.4mm at the output and 4.2mm at 10 meters (i lost the pics about this part).
Being so bad quality, i decided that it don't worth the effort to keep it integer, also just as cat-toy, and decided to dissect it for see the inside ..... first bad thing, the tailcap switch "hook" the thread on the body only with 1 turn and half (this means that all the spring pressure is kept in place with just 1 turn and half of the thread, so it can broke easily) ..... the inside driver is simply a "pen style" sink driver, with the spring soldered after the switch with a blob of solder, and kept centered from a disc of black foam ..... the front lens is small, but looks glass, also if NOT AR coated at all (full white reflex), where instead the inside expander lens is a cheap acrylic lens, this also non AR coated, also poorly glued and placed discretely off-center (bad positioned ..... from some signs on the brass and the lens, it also looks as "unglued" and reglued) ..... things like that let me think that these are quality rejects from manufactures, that someone buy as scrap "by weight" and resell as working items.
I was unable to access the crystal, cause the remaining brass piece is pressed and glued with some superglue in the aluminium threaded holder ..... if i get it punched out, maybe i can recycle the host for something, but i really don't have too much hope also just in this.
Final personal judice: "crap" ..... it don't worth also just the effort to think to buy it as a cat-toy ..... 9 Euro flushed in the toilet. (and this also definitively deleted DinoDirect from my personal list of possible sellers, forever)
