I said energy not power

So I'll ask again. How long would you need to run a 200mW laser until you have reached the energy output of a SINGLE pulse from the pulsed laser?

Didn't read the post in depth enough to catch it, did it say the pulse energy was 3J? If so, you'd need to run a 0.2W (200mW) for 15 seconds ( 0.2W*15s = 3Ws = 3J) to attain 3 Joules

So you could either shoot that laser at the target or stick your 200mW at it for 15seconds. That's actually pretty good on behalf of the pulsed one.

Made a vid of match-lighting and a still frame of the flame leaping out from the foam core (the only way you can really see what it does as it's so quick) with no music so you can hear the pop when the beam hits.

Euuwww. Did you see some of the related videos? All about using YAG lasers as surgery, and showing lots of graphic pictures.

Re: Pulsed YAG laser from Heuursciences

I actually observed and heard the air POP using a 3" FL lens. If the dye cell Q switch is installed and not damaged, the pulse is super short and way over 3 KW.
