Well let me be the first to post a bunch of pictures of yet another amazing laser by Jet Lasers.
Purchased the laser through the GB JL had going on with the new line of lasers, The PL-E Pro series. I already have a 532 from the (PL-E Mechanical) so I saw this buy as a opportunity to add a new wavelength. 473nm
I received a PM yesterday that the laser was shipped from Gray. Not sure when the laser was actually handed over to the shipping company but I received it today!! Superman must be delivering. When the tracking number provided finally updated I already had it. Talk about quick shipping. 10/10
What came with it?
I received 2 battery tubes, 18650 spacer, safety dongle, safety switch on a pigtail, lens cap, and in the plastic baggie is a star field grating (which is awesome because I sold my only one with a laser to afford this ) Was too excited to take pictures of unwrapping it but each piece was wrapped in bubble wrap and packed tightly so nothing could shift. Laser head was in an anti static baggie and then wrapped in the bubble wrap. Again 10/10
Here is the tail cap with the safety dongle. I don't have a use for it really. The switch on the pigtail on the other hand is awesome. Would allow you to operate the laser and not touch it. I immediately saw a use for it when I had it on the LPM. Allows you to fire the laser and not bump it off the sensor by pressing the large button on the end. 10/10
Here are the two different styled battery tubes. I prefer the stock one over the others but its nice it comes with one and you don't need to purchase it separately. 10/10
The new power button has a really nice click to it. Would have been nice if the momentary button was also machined. Its still the same rubber button from the older model. Although not as bad on this one the button tends to swell when pressed and gets wedged in the hole. This obviously make it a constant switch sometimes. Gray suggests a little bit of lube around the button to help it slide through the very precise hole. This model also has the external power jack like the last one. 9/10 (9 being for the issue with the momentary button)
This model, like the last has the ability to focus. The ring with grooves actually spins and moves the internal lens. Has a very smooth feel. The new feature up here is the removable lens cap. This is awesome and although a little hard to grab works perfectly. Has a hole drilled in the top and I may add a small D ring to make it easier to unscrew. 9/10
Here are just some comparison shots with my PL-E Mechanical 532.
On the LPM!
2 minute test. Power just wants to keep climbing!
Onto the beam shot!
488ish (ML Argon) on the left and the 473 on the right.
405nm added
Added in its rightful place on my ML spectrum! Clearly doing more than any argon line
Overall this is another quality product from JetLasers. Can't wait for the next line of lasers to come out. I will be right there cash in hand. I recommend anyone looking for a quality hand held to check out JetLasers. Also there customer support is well above anything you would expect. Gray makes buying lasers fun and easy. All questions answered promptly. He emailed me power graphs of my laser as well.
If there is anything I haven't answered in this post or pictures you would like to see just let me know.
Thanks for looking!
