I made an other heatsink for my 9mm didoe tommorow, it come from an old graphic card ram heatsink.

lpf1.jpg

i wraped the KTP in some indium foil (which are better than aluminium, because more smooth)
lpf2.jpg

i used a bolt, and the equivalent screw that i holed. I fixed my vanadate and ktp in the bolt, now i can control the rotation of both.
To fix the vanadate, i sticked an indium foil (with glue), make a hole, then placed the Vanadate, and then recover him with a second holed foil that i glued on the first foil

I made also a tec cooled system, but their is too much vibration due to the fan below the heatsink, i will place it in front of him.

With the tec, the bolt is really cold. But im not completely satisfied with the build, i obtained some nice power with this system, but i suspect that the alignement between the KTP and vanadate is not as good (maybe some few degrees in difference), when i place the KTP far from the vanadate. Tommorow i will saw the bolt in twice, so i could check the alignement of the setup. I will try some lens setup too.

In this type of setup your vanadate and KTP really need to be in two separate mounts. The KTP doesn't need any cooling, it actually does much better when it is warm (so a cold KTP is probably killing quite a bit of power). But you really need the KTP in the center of the cavity. You will obtain much more green if it is further out from the vanadate. Also with two separate mounts you will be able to adjust the KTP to find the point in which you get the most power.

Thanks goeey , +1 for the KTP with the "warmup" needed for green, making a new setup right now : i saw the bolt in twice, and effectively, the alignement is completely worse. Gonna saw the bolt again in twice.

Thats quite a bit of experimentation going on there - looks good!

About the TEC: you might find it useful using one on the pump diode, as its wavelength is proportional to its temperature. This way you can 'tune' the diodes wavelength to the optimum output for the vanadate, creating more power for the ktp to double.

Wow! Great thread and I say I'm learning... Congrats on the build.
I'll be watching closely :)
