Since I had lost my other 50mW green (rated 60mW) and I couldn't live in a world without 532. I decided to get the chrome host 50mW pen from O-Like

Packaging and shipping (6/10)
It came very well bubbled wrapped in the usual white singapore post envelope. Instead of declaring it as the usual "Flashlight for gift" susie declared it as "Parts of LED torch $15 gift" It took 10 days to arrive to NZ

It didn't come in a box but instead in a retail style bit of packaging which strikes me as unusual for a laser. I'm disappointed by a lack of box.

Host (9/10)

This host is shiny and feels nice in the hand. It's awesome and looks way premium compared to a newwish pen

It does look like it may get scratched though

Divergence (7/10)

I haven't measured the divergence but it seems pretty average. When I point the laser at an object 100m away the dot appears noticeably bigger than that of my other 50mW O-like laser but since I dont have that anymore its just from memory

Modes and Stability (8/10)

It appears to stay (most of the time) TEM00. But like virtually all pen lasers it does get affected by heat and sometimes dims. It appears this laser doesn't like cold. The stability is still good but not as good as my other O-like greenie but that wasn't in a pen

Brightness and Beam

As a 50mW green it is very very bright. The beam is somewhat visible in a lit room and very visible at night.

Sorry for the bad pic stupid jitters

Burning

As a pen laser dont expect a burner. I can pop black balloons but that seems to be it. I left my googles at a friends house so when i get them back i'll try burning with a magnifier

Overall

Good laser and nice host. Would recommended except its got some stability issues and O-like has better. 8/10

Good job on the review of this Laser...
It would have helped to know the actual power
of the Laser to see if it was in spec... although
O-Like is usually close to specs...

Susie metered it and just said it was on spec. Sadly she didn't give me the exact number

I hate to be the one to say it (nobody like to be "this guy"), but can you edit out the small bit of profanity in your review? It's just one sentence, so I figured asking would be much politer than a report.

Other than that bit, great review!

It's all good. I'm not offended, it's just better to fix it before somebody who DOES get offended blows up about it. That's happened to me before, and it's never fun.

@mewrox99 - Nice review:beer:

I'm curious to see if you will get any scratches on that host. I thought about getting the same exact laser a while back, but have too many greenies in that range already. That finish in my experience, get's crappy after a bit of pocket carry - would be awesome if it held up well to wear though.

Good enough for me...
Susie can be trusted... IMO ;)

I'm gonna have to disagree with that... Susie told me my first 400mW o-like was also tested, and lpmed. It arrived near DOA and extremely underspec. I've had other underspec but close to the lower number listed lasers from them as well.

If they were to put +/- 10% from the lower number on their site, IMO they would be 95% honest. 50mW is not hard to hit though... heck I'm selling two of their laser that are actually 50mW right now:p
