I got this laser 21 days ago. Just now getting around to a review. I ordered this laser on January 19th and received it January 20th :D Cajunlasers being a U.S. company the shipping times are great! (I did pay 16$ for first class airmail)
Clif has GREAT service like always. He even through in a couple free batteries for me. When I ordered it I placed two orders one order was the laser and then 10 minutes later I saw I could add Airmail shipping. So I bought the upgraded shipping separately. I emailed Clif and he combined the orders and shipped them out within an hour! So overall a GREAT experience with the purchase/shipping/service from Cajunlasers Store

Here's the link to the product, it's sold out currently Rescue Laser 400mw 532nm water resistant [532400] - $229.99 : Cajunlasers Store

On to the laser itself.

The laser is around 8" long, with a little less than 1/4" difference in diameter from the handle end to the lens end. The machining with this host is pretty good. Better than I expected, very small nearly invisible lathe mill marks around the host, perfect finish out of the box. It's got sort of a gun metal anodizing which is easily scratched. It comes with 7 rubber o-rings around the outside of the host where the heatsink would be. Its got a nice non anodized aluminum ring showing just under the focus ring, which makes a nice accent.

Nice smooth threads on this laser. They look a little shoddy inside the rear clicky, they still feel smooth though. Every joint is double o-ring'd with grease. The focus ring has some grease in the threads for a smooth action that holds it in place.

The laser is only activated by a rear clicky. The clicky is very solid, and takes a slight effort to push, which I like since there are no other safety features.

There's alot of other reviews on the forum for this laser. I think it's popular for a reason, for the price, it's hard to find this power.

I found the power output to be around 415mw AVERAGE and 453mw PEAK

With the front lens off I put the uncollminated beam up to the LPM and got 553mw!

I want to look into removing the from waterproofing lens and possibly add some g-1 lens.

OVERALL: I would buy this laser again, great laser/descent beam specs. I have not measured the divergence but It seems better than the Arctic.
I LOVE THIS LASER!

Here's the pics.

Nice Laser. Looks like a Crown upgrade 400 from O'Like though with a focus ring. I like the host.

They did not cut the spring (for protected 18650 batt.) which makes pretty big pressure on whole PCB. Protection circuit makes your 18650 much longer than standard 18650. Ultrafires are known to be much longer anyway. I understand seller of this laser, it is very hard to know whether you gonna use protected or unprotected cells.

When you see "water resistant" advertising, be prepared for at least 10%-15% less power out - because of the front glass.

BTW that "4000mAh" cell is a joke.

Yeah, were discussing the front lens in another thread, your right on there. These fake ultrafires that come with it are funny, 4000mah? I think they are 2000mah, gotta love the chinese and how they're always trying to "dress up a turd" :) btw brenner, I plan on getting a set of those batteries in your avatar there next payday.

I was planning to start selling "6000mAh"

;)

so xxxfires get some "healthy" competition.

But that is nothing comparing to this:

4x 18650 3.7V 5000mAh Li-ion Rechargeable Battery GTL B | eBay

So many emails , and questions why I am "lying" that Panasonic 3100mAh are the highest capacity on the market, when there is 5000mAh 18650.

These guys are selling like a crazy- Sometime I feel sorry for all those buyers- but most of the time NOT. Most of them in their emails were 100% sure , that those cells are really 5000mAh.

:) or :cryyy:

So, in the end Ultrafire is not the biggest liar on the net.

Do not forget to let me know that you are coming from LPF, so I can provide a discount.

And if you can wait - very soon protected version with 2 types of top button, and finally right protection will be available.

Redilast, and AW will have some serious competition.

In price , and quality.

It's a different story when you put the multimeter up to those 5000mah cells im guessing ;)

I know you know your batteries, and I would love to support a forum member who has honest products. :)

Actually, every review should be like Joe's: Hi res pics, reading, conclusion

Really good job. I do not think many people would remove that lens, get some reading w/o lens. Good idea.

Thank you fellas,

I took all the shots with my iphone 4s and sharpened/resized in photoshop cs5.

I plan on removing my front 'waterproof' lens on the front of this laser as described in this thread, should be a descent increase in power (500mw+)
