Finally got my replacement today. Not going to do the waterproof test, but otherwise it is a clone of what you have (had) there.

Mine peaked at 457mW, but on half drained battery.

Very nice laser and review. Good price for a 400mw laser. I'm wondering how does the power hold up after two minutes?

No idea... settled around 400 and stayed there for for the 90 second run. It warms up quickly so I didn't really want to keep it running much longer.

@ranged - did you sell your soul to the laser devil or something? That's a very overspec unit.

@InfinitusEquitas:

I am happy for you that finally you got a good laser.

Please tell me how was the returning process with O-like.

Probably going to have to return mine as well.

Got a LPM few days ago and measured my O-Like 400mW Green Laser Torch. Output is only 200mw and peaks at 250, and this is with a fully charged battery.

Very disappointed.

It's not very overspec, but at least as advertised... Based on visual observation, the one I got before I suspect was ~100-150mW. So I'm happy with it.

Now the return process did leave a sour taste...

I contacted o-like via email, and received a reply to send the laser back to them. The address is rather long so I would recommend printing it our to tape onto any kind of labels and forms. You will also need to fill out a declaration form... I put down broken flashlight with a value of $40.

Shipping via USPS was $34.90. Definitely worth it to get the tracking and also take pictures of everything...

So I sent the laser out, and basically forced myself to forget about it for a while. Didn't hear anything back from o-like.

When I went to track the package I saw that it was actually delivered... I contacted Susie via o-like and she told me that even though it was delivered they need to "check" their mail, and they only do that every few days.

I waited another few days, and contacted her again... said she still didn't receive it... which was very weird imo.

In the meantime my LPM from Jerry arrived and I proceeded to test all my lasers. Every single one from o-like was underspec - not horribly, but a little below what they claim.

I contacted Susie via msn chat again... to check on status of replacement, and because frankly I was pissed off about all the lasers being under spec, and I had other issues with the 1.2W laser.

She still claimed that they didn't get the laser. Said the status only meant it got to china - this is total BS. The thing is there was even an attempted delivery to them on saturday, and a successful delivery monday. Here's the tracking in case you're curious... via usps.com EG640919549US .

At this point I sent her pictures of the shipping label, and post office receipt as well.

All of a sudden her tune changed, she agreed to send out the replacement right away... and she also refunded me $12 for the underspec lasers.

The whole "it only got to china" crap while the status is: "Your item was delivered in CHINA PEOPLES REP at 11:00 am on April 25, 2011. " left a really sour taste for me. Everything turned out ok, and I'll order cheaper greenies from o-like in the future, but take my advice... document everything.

I guess, i was right to mention on paypal
>400 mW Or refund.

Theres poor comunication or tactics on their parts and u have to keep going until they notice it.

Hmm, gonna start putting that in the paypal note in the future.

On the website though, they advertise the laser as only being >350mW and not IR filtered...

Well, next time I order from o-like... will definitely put that in.

Don't see that happening for a while though.. at least until one of the lasers I already have breaks.

Thank you for sharing your story.

I sent an email to Susie today complaining obout my very underspec laser. It is to her credit that she

replied immediately and told me to send back the laser, no arguments, giving me this loooooong address.

So I'm going to send it to China right away after the weekend.

I hope that they won't deny receiveing it.

Obviously that I'll send it via registered mail with tracking number.

Talking about underspec lasers, I have another one of O-like's which is the cute 250mw red. I tested it and the output was 214mw (peak), with a battery less than half charged. Currently, I can't recharge the battery, since the crappy charger died and a replacement charger is on the way to me from O-like.

I am telling you this because I want to know how you made Susie refund you for your underspec lasers in case that after I get my new charger and recharge the battery, my red laser will still be underspec.

By the way, I ordered few days ago a 808nm 220mw laser from O-like that wasn't shipped yet, and now I am having regret thoughts due to all the above mentioned and also due to this.

Ever since she shipped the replacement I haven't been in touch.

Test the cutie with a full battery... they only promise that it will be above >220mW, so a fresh battery can probably do that.

Basically I just politely told her over chat that is was dishonest that none of the lasers were as advertised. She said with the low estimates they give are "honest enough" to which my reply was that the lasers weren't even hitting the low end of what they claim. 1mW+/- for the 200mW transformable which turned out to be 174mW I didn't care about, but the fact that my 1.2W tactical was averaging only 1W pissed me off, especially since the first one had a major manufacturing defect with the lenses... they had to resend me a part. She also offered to refund me for the laser as a whole, if I sent it, back, but considering the shipping charge and hassle I didn't want to do that.

So it all turned out fine in the end, but I can't say I enjoyed the experience.

@InfinitusEquitas:

Did Susie give you a RMA number before you sent your laser back to China?

Because she didn't say anything about RMA number to me. Just gave me this long address and told me to attach a note stating what is the problem with the laser and to write down my email and shipping address.
