Review of o-like's 400mW bluray laser found here: 400mW blu-ray 405nm laser torch /adjustable/waterproof [OL-405T-400] - $102.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products
It cost about $100 and it took a total of 26 days to arrive in southern California from the day it was ordered.
Ordered: Dec. 20th 2010
Shipped: Dec. 29th 2010
Left China: Jan 10th 2011
Arrived US: Jan 15th 2011

Stats of the laser:
Metered >380mW
Waterproof: yes
Polarity: Case Positive
Battery: yes [Trustfire 18650]
Charger: yes [100-240V]

It arrived in a box with an instruction page, charger and a 2400mAh Ultrafire 18650:

Here's a comparison with a PHR at 100mA:

The waterproof glass has a greenish AR coating, and this is the same coating they are using on the red waterproof lasers in this same host.

It metered at just over 380mW:

A video of it cutting electrical tape, lighting flash paper, etc....

Waterproof test:

Overall; it's not quite 400mW, but I think a focusable 380mW waterproof 405nm laser for $100 is a great deal.

Great Review.:) All these positive Reviews Have made me just buy one. :thanks:

+1

Exellent work. +1

Mine O-like 405nm is crazy overspec then. God I hope it doesnt blow up :(

Thanks for your review! I could not help but order one of them. My meter shows exactly 350mW on it, so its like O-like promised. It came with a micro-charger and a grey "UltraFire 2800mA" and a nice black present box. In the box was a small slip unlike yours, saying "Respect its duty cycle, so don´t operate continuously more than 1 minute every time", which leaves open hop much time I have to add between the minutes of use... Anyways, on my own risk I extended its use to 3 minutes, and it got only slightly warm. As also the host gives me a good feeling holding it and looks great, also I can recommend buying this. BTW, price raised to $109 now, but still worth it.

I grabbed one of these too, after reading pretty much this whole forum. It came today, and I am LOVING IT. It's black, instead of the graphite, which is my only complaint. I don't have an LPM, but I got it to do all the cool burn-y stuff, like lighting fireworks and matches. I wrote up a full review with video on my blag HERE.

It's a great unit no doubt. The duty cycle is more like 4-5 minutes on/ 3 minutes off. @ 5 min, the heatsink on mine justs starts to get a little warm. (maybe 90*F)

Anybody of you guys got one with a loose lens? I noticed that the focus changes by itself if I turn the whole pointer (around its axis), then I found one lens is shaky. Now I need to buy a tool to open the top to get access to the lens. I don´t want to send it back because such a minor flaw. Anyways, its my favorite pointer so far.

I don't have a loose lens, but your's can be tightened.
You don't need a tool to get into the area where the focusing lens is, just unscrew the top piece.
And when you get to it, you can easily adjust (tighten) the lens nut with a thin flat-head screwdriver.
You may need a spanner-wrench (or a pair of tweezers) to unscrew the lens-holder.
Here is a pic of the inside of my o-like 405s head:

Ash, thank you. You are absolutely right, now I wonder why I did not see this by myself before. I guess I am becoming old. About the white stuff around the lens-system of your pointers head, it looks like glue. Did you put it on? My pointer does not have any glue or similar at that place.

Now I have this pointer quite some time. Next I want to buy something small, with a 14500 cell, but same specs. Any recommendations? But this is an off topic question... :-)

I believe the white stuff is thermal grease and the laser came like that, I didn't put it on. Not sure if it's grease or glue though as I haven't touched it.
OK. So you want a 405nm pointer with the same (400mW + focusable + waterproof) specs that uses a single 14500 (3.7v AA size) battery.
You are not going to find this in a production pointer. It will have to be custom made by someone here, and not many DIY-hosts are waterproof. So you may be out of luck. :yabbmad:
If you had an LPF member make one for you it would be relatively expensive as well. I'm guessing over $200. :o
