I ordered this laser from Eitan at Sci-fi lasers on November 7, 2014 for the amount of $184.00 including shipping, custom focus adapter and the stainless steel polished look which adds $15 but was well worth it. The laser arrived on December 22, 2014 in good condition and all accounted for except the laser spec sheet was not in the parcel. I emailed Eitan and will post the specs as soon as he emails them to me. The delay in receiving this laser was just bad luck of the draw and no fault of the seller. The postal service in Israel was experiencing large delays and he was waiting for parts for over 2 weeks that normally arrive in days. Then when shipping it out it was Black Friday and was delayed even further. Eitan kept me well informed and was a pleasure to do business with from start to finish and offered me free custom paint on my next order for the long wait time even though it wasn't his fault. Great guy!

The host in the stainless finish is really unique. Its quite rustic and almost steamer punk. The polishing rounds and smooths out the angles of the geometry on the host and the rouge from the polishing wheel left dark residue in the crevices to give this laser a very rugged aged look that I was pleasantly surprised to see! Much more character but if you like clean precision this may not be the best choice for you.

The focus knob has a slight looseness to it that some thread lock will correct but other than that its just fine. Its a 501B so they are'nt anything to jump for joy about but the rugged mirror polish makes it a nice addition to my growing collection.

On to the beam- This laser is powerful! I grabbed my Eagle Pair glasses and tripods and hit the back yard with just a touch of moisture in the air for the promise of some nice beam pics.
The dot measured 7mm at 2 meters and then 28mm at 8 meters. I think this is pretty good for a 445 no?
I will add the LPM results as soon as I get them so lets get to some pics of the host and the beloved beam shots.

Thank you Sci-fi, you made my X-mass merry and bright!

That's a lot of power in such a little package, like the stainless steel steam punk look to it too.

Thanks for the nice review Buddy !

This is called "mirror polish" , you can call it stainless steel finish if you want as it does look a bit similar.

Merry X-mas ! Enjoy the laser and stay safe !

Nice!

Is it polished aluminum, or, actually stainless steel?
