Yesterday has finally arrived my new pocket 635nm, 375 mW pointer by Wolfman29... the Copperhead :D

It's a tiny, sleek stainless steel host and it measures only 9.5 X 1.3 centimeters.

...immediately tested with my new Laserbee II Deluxe :)

Unfortunately the high room temperature (approx 29 °C) is not ideal to the sensor.

Now some beamshots

Comparison with a 380 mW green laser.

I had also measured the external temperature of the solid copper heatsink before, and after 45 sec. of the laser in action :) the increasing was of only 5 °C

Thanks again to Wolfman for this jewel ;)

Hey, glad you like it! Great pictures. Just remember to keep that copper heatsink polished! I've had to scrub it more than once, ya know! Also - just for longevity of the diode, I wouldn't run it more than 30 seconds at a time. The external copper sink should help it have a longer duty cycle, but it's almost a bare module pushing 375mW!

Nice tiny laser. Orange-red color of the dot is very pleasing.

Thanks guys :) the beam and the dot are very nice if compared to those obtained from a "standard" 660 nm red laser.

I you want to keep the shine of the copper, polish and clear coat it ;) saves a lot of polishing

Btw awesome laser! Great work by wolfman!

Yup! That copper will tarnish pretty quickly because it's not clear-coated. In the short time I kept it as my personal 635nm laser, I had to re-polish it several times. I've realized that steel wool works well to get all of the grime off of it. Then you can polish it using other techniques and get it clear-coated.
