Hey all,
So i'm posting this to show off my new Spartan 1W (from dragonlasers), as well as my first build on my own.
The Spartan was the first high-powered laser that I have ever owned, and I was totally amazed by the power of it. To first start off, their customer service is excellent, whenever I had a question it was usually replied to within a day. The only complaints I have is the time that it took the laser to ship, but that was expected coming from China, so it had nothing to do with dragonlasers itself. Once I recieved the laser, I was suprised by how light it was compared to its length, even with batteries in it. Although light, it feels like a very solid piece of equipment. The laser can burn nearly anything in contact with it, so extreme care should be taken, the glasses are a must when looking at the dot, it is very bright. All in all it is an awesome laser, and for my first high powered laser, I am very satisfied.
The second laser in the picture (the stainless steel one) is a personal build that I did myself. It consists of a stainless steel host from survival lasers, and a S06J 12X 405nm diode with a 405 G-2 lens, running on a Micro boost driver set at 450mA. This laser when fully assembled (18650 battery) is very heavy, heavier than the Spartan.
Both lasers are very solid pieces and will be fun to experiment with. I will post a more extended review once I obtain means to measure their output. But in the meantime here are a few pics.
