Hello all
I want to post something about the MSV1 host from Sinner.
He was kind enough to sent me a Magic Stick v1 for a build. The host made from aluminium. It accepts 12mm module for the laser diode. The finish is highly polish. I don't know if Sinner has his own hands on this but the polish is excellent on the surface. A hand glove is recommend to prevent fingerprints.
The host accept one 18650 cell or two 16340/18350 cells. It need some adjustments for the exact length. That is easy done with the spring length.
MSV1 is a hard to remember name for this host. It is more a product code so I name it "Greed" after the 7 deadly sins : greed, wrath, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. Sinner was the manufacturer of this host.
Okay let's move on the pictures. The finish build first. :yh:
BUILD :
The expanded view of the MSV1 host. The build is pretty easy. It accepts 17mm round driver.
The tailcap needed some work. It was just a wire attach to the white switch. I found a brass slug for the battery negative pole and soldered it to the wire.
Then the slug was fixed in place with epoxied glue. It take 5 min to harden so work fast.
The 4x AMC7135 driver. Normally this driver has several modes but I omitted them by soldering directly to the ic pins.
A spring was attach on the other side. I have measured the available room in the battery compartment and it needs just a spring to make a firm contact.
1.4A current, just what the doctor ordered.
The 17mm round driver fits very good in the pill.
A Mitsubitshi 500mW diode in a copper module was attach on the other side of the pill. The module was locked with a setscrew on the outside. It was better to hide to somewhere.
The focus adapter has a hole for the chrome ring. You will need this ring for the lensbarrel. The ring is pressed in the focus adapter.
Voila the build is finished !
BEAMSHOTS :
With a 650-G-2 lens. After 1 min the output was dropping fast.
I measured 1181mW on the Ophir LPM seconds from the start.
I hope you like it. Thanks for watching. :thanks::wave:
