30mw ledshoppe green laser pointer
http://www.ledshoppe.com/Product/ledp/LP1075.htm
first of all i love this laser ive read peoples reviews about the ledshop 50mW and it does everything that it can do, and it is much higher quality than the cheap ebay or amazon lasers.
the diameter of the beam at the aperature is quite a bit larger than your average cheapo green laser pointer (almost 2mm) but the divergence is excellent. i did not measure but im just assuming because it pops a balloon from over 16 feet away (with old batteries and without a mount for the laser!) video at bottom.
this laser is also built very well unlike my so called "50mW" ebay laser the threads actually go together! also the button doesnt rattle as much. but it is still cheap. then im not sure what the technical term would be but with the ebay laser there is a dot but then there is green splatter all around the dot and the power output is very inconsistent, and it needs time to warm up. the ledshop is just instantaneous as soon as you hit the button and has no beam splatter and it is still brighter than the other even after i pot moded the ebay POS (which suprisingly hasnt died yet).
the warning label on this model actually doesnt say IIIa or IIIb it just says III... and the packaging was just a small manilla envelope taped shut with a label that said "computer accessories" which was a nice touch because i live in the USA, and it only took 9 business days to ship for free!
PROS
*built relatively well
*good beam divergence
*no beam "splatter"
*pops balloons
*beam is amazing at night
*free shipping
*ONLY 19.99!!!!
CONS
*only bad thing i can think of is the fragile shipping container. just an envelope. but hey it got through customs!!!!
so the bottom line is i really doubt you can find a better green laser for 19.99, and this would be an awesome first laser if your looking for one. also you can find a 10% discount coupon somewhere on this site. if you read this and know what it is pls post it. sorry i could not find it.
other bottom line NEVER buy an ebay or amazon laser!!! they are crap!
also this is my first review so dont judge to harshly pls :yh:
notice it only takes about 5 seconds after i get it steady on the sharpie mark
