Thanks for the welcome. I've got a question about this laser now after thinking a little bit. Is the dot still round looking even when you see it around 50-100+ feet away? I was reading about what the diodes look like when its just the raw diode.

Wel if you are holding the laser the dot is just round like normal but if you lay it down and walk to the dot 100 feet away it might be a bit of a bar like pattern but it's not recommended to let your laser alone anyway :)

I guess that laser has run for about half an hour now. I cannot say how long the lifespan of these thins are i guess a variety of factors involve this like: usage, driver fail, battery fail, diode fail. Also every diode is different and the current it runs on is too.

As far as I know, Max sets all these V2 rifles to 1200mA, which I think is the max current listed on the spec sheet. That -should- give these a good lifetime with proper use.

Wow! That's pretty impressive right there. I think I might have to get one of these. I'm still researching though on what has the best beam and dot at this high of power though. I'm debating about getting a spartan 1w, but this looks slightly more impressive because of the price.

Just a quick note.....if you do decide (like me :D ) to get the 1w version of this, be sure to order the TRUE 1w watt version since this one has the glass lens instead of the crappy plastic one in the regular 1w model.

I decided to go 1w because I was afraid this 1.2w might be at the limit as far as heat protection goes.
