Hey guys, my name is Sean, and I just wanted to repost a review I left on their site for your information. This pertains to a 1000mW, 532 nM laser I bought about a month ago. I've seen laserpointerpro.com get a lot of bad press in these kinds of places, so here's my experience with them. I've posted this as a reply on another thread on here, but I want to make sure that the good stuff gets out, and not just the negative like in that other thread. Do with this what you will:

"First the bad:
1)Shipping was advertised to be 5-7 days or something like that; it actually took 2 weeks, even using the faster shipping. However, the return address shows it came from Hong Kong, so considering the distance involved, and customs and all that, I'd call that reasonable, but I'm a very patient person.

2)I can't actually light matches from 3 meters away like it says on here, but as a physics major, I was skeptical of that claim from the beginning. I should note that this laser came with a 2200 mAh battery, which is not the most powerful model of the 18650 available, which means I probably am not getting my full 1000mW output. I have a 2400 mAh version of the 18650 battery on the way from another site that I'm certain will boost my "ignition range." I can't wait!

3)The focusing lens has a small defect in it, an air bubble, but it's off to the edge and doesn't seem to interfere with the beam itself, so I'm not worried about it.

4)Their order tracking system on here never updated beyond "Processing," so the only way I had to track it was via USPS, which was fine. They don't give you the tracking number automatically though, you have to ask the "Live Help" rep for it.

5)Not their fault, but it has no charger for the battery; but they never said it did either, so my bad for not catching that. You can buy chargers and other batteries elsewhere for 20 bucks or less; I did.

Now the good:
1)This thing is insanely bright, even with the inferior, stock battery I have at the moment! I was able to easily hit buildings from several miles away! It can definitely burn things, but I have to be within a few inches of my target, and it helps if the object is dark in color. I can still feel the heat on my hand from a foot or two though, and I anticipate improvement upon receipt of my stronger battery, but we'll see.

2)It feels really solid, fairly heavy, too. It has a satisfyingly "clicky" on/off push-button on the aft end, and both end-caps have rubber gaskets under them, and it feels very well-made.

3)It has a nice little silver case with foam inserts, and came with red goggles, which is odd, but still effective.

4)I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it also has a manual focus on the aperture, so you can make the beam small or large at any range! I don't know why this wasn't on the feature list, but it's a nice bonus.

5)As with most green lasers, you can see this beam in the air, even without smoke, and in fairly strong light, though not direct sunlight unless the batteries are new. At night though, it's strongly visible even from oblique angles. It inspires awe in just about everyone I've shown it to, even those who were not all that interested before seeing it.

So, overall I am very satisfied and will probably buy from laserpointerpro.com again!"

What was the price? You should send this to someone to have it LPM'd i'm curious to know the output.

I paid $287 and some change, then like 7 bucks for "registered" shipping. I'm already working on getting it LPMd, just need to find a place on campus to do it; surely the physics department at my university has something that would be adequate.

I did some shopping around, other lasers of the same wattage ranged from 500-1000 dollars, but some had more features. i bought my last laser from wickedlasers.com, it was also green, but only 25 mW or something like that. I paid $500 for that one, but that was like 7 years ago when the tech was newer. Wickedlasers has a sweet 1W green laser for $1000 but I can't afford that, haha... it also has WAY more features than this one I just bought, which is just a basic, though powerful, pointer.
