When searching for reviews of 594.5nm pointers before purchasing mine I found they were sparse, even on this forum of laser enthusiasts, so hopefully this helps someone else take the plunge and purchase a yellow. :)

I'll start off by saying that this was the smoothest laser purchase I've had to date, Laserglow's staff are very friendly and helpful, they answer any questions throughly so you can be confident in your purchase.

Shipping: I opted to for 3-5 day shipping by UPS 3-day select, and I expected to get the laser just after the new year. Thanks to LG's quick processing of the order, and abnormally fast UPS shipping I received my laser in just two days, so bravo to UPS on that. The only problem I had was when i saw my package clearly marked "fragile" be tossed to the front door from a meter or so away. :yabbmad:

Packaging: Upon opening the package I noticed that it was surely packaged well enough to withstand the toss, as inside the first box there was cardboard inserts holding a smaller box into place. In this second, smaller box was the laser case, incased in bubble-wrap.

The case is very nice, great construction with a dense foam cut to fit the laser.

The Laser: What really counts, the bread to the pleasant customer service and shipping butter, if you will. I purchased the Rigel-6, which is rated 2-9mW on the website, and was happy to see that my specific unit was on the upper end of that at 6.8mW average power and 9.8mW peak. Enough cannot be said about the sturdiness of this laser's build, it feels nice in the hands, has a good weight to it for a 2xAAA size pointer. The button offers a distinct "click" when depressed, and also feels very solid, more so than any other pointer I've encountered. It does mode-hop some on a cold start, but if you let it warm just a few seconds it'll be fine. Last night it was 45 degrees out and I had no problem getting it to warm itself up using only the heat it generates. I have seen the green come out a few times, but only on low batteries from a cold start, and even then for just a split second. For the most part stability isn't a big issue, as soon as you hit the button it blasts out the pleasing golden color, then settles down to average power.

The beam is thin, even when compared to other DPSS colors.

A smoky beamshot. :D

The color is very warm, pure, and pleasing to the eye. I agree with those who have told me 593.5nm is quite gold, it just seems to have the right tinge to be to be compared with a rare earth element.

In conclusion I'd recommend this laser to any wavelength lover like myself, because all it really can do is look pretty and be rare, but that's precisely why I love it.

Update: Measured divergence of .65mRad! Woah!

Here's a link to the product page, should anyone be interested in getting one like it: Laserglow Technologies - Handheld Lasers, Alignment Lasers and Lab / OEM Lasers

*all photos taken with an iPhone 4. Thanks Scotty 757 for holding the laser so still in these sick beamshots and during the mRad reading :p

-PS, it can even add some serious zing to your orange drink.

Eventually I will probably get a yellow, the color looks too beautiful to resist. Nice review +1.

Where's the LPM graph/pics? ;)

Do you mind sharing how much this unit costs?

Beautiful color, and thanks for taking the time to post this.

SRESAL; I have yet to buy an LPM, so I can't offer the graphs, but I do trust Laserglow's reading, as I believe they use a Coherent Fieldmaster. I bought this during LG's Boxing Day sale so it was 25% off, after shipping and all the total was $400.25

Everyone else, thanks for the kind words. :D

This same pointer is one of my favorites in my collection. You just can't beat that color. It never ceases to wow anyone that sees it in person.

I agree with the wow factor, it's surprisingly bright, and I'm not sure why but I can see this one travel further in daylight than a 5mW green.
