A formal review forthcoming very soon, but for now just a few iPhone pics of my first "golden" wavelength. 593.5 is GOLD, I would call it gold orange if anything. Like I said, more to come, but with some matches, glycerine(lazeerer style) I have an awesome golden veam, and I could not be happier with my purchase. I will be keeping my Rigel for along time, or until I get another 593.5

Ohhhhhh. I love that color. Sam had a gold HeNe at Selem and I almost caved and bought it. Congrats on the new wavelength. I'm envious. :D

It is awesome, it only makes me want a higher powered 589 that much more. Yellows always been my favorite color, and lasing yellow is awesome. I've went through a 8 pack of duracell ultras already, so I got a 4 pack of eneloops and a charger for them. Save money on batteries

Congrats on the yellow. I snagged a 1mw 589 right before the last CNI GB closed. 593.5 will be my next wavelength acquisition after I get around to building my RGB scanner.

So wait, the big 589s run off of CR2s (in that case, I can use li-ions)?

This runs off of 2x 1.5V AAA style primaries or 2x1.2V AAA, which in this case are Ni-MH

You guys think the non rechargeable AAAs would give more power? I'm not familiar how 3V compared to 2.4V would compare, I don't have an LPM at the time to test it-

Oh yeah, and wolfman, yours is a PGL-III-C which runs off of 1x18650 li-ion, I'm fairly sure that's the one your getting right?

Yeah , most (if not all) of the PGL-III-C's take a single 18650 li-ion case positive :)

Your gonna be so happy, the box it came in straight from laserglow, it says tested average power 2.2mW, tested peak 3.7mW. So a 30mW 589 will be very bright! That'll be my next Purchase as well.

Welcome to the club Jake ;) yes these golden lasers are something else, I have a CNI 589 peaking at 125mW out and I love it's beautiful golden color, here's a shot with it and a couple other colors. I took this shot up on the mountain top in the snow and a cloud had just enveloped us so it did some pretty cool stuff to the picture. I like this picture so much I named it, it's called "Outward Bound"
