The first post says that he 'fit' 3 out of 5, and then mentioned the other 2 were 'beat up'...

Most likely he did not realize they were short open cans at first.

The it says this:

"It was at this point I realised that all of the diodes were infact the inferior short die ones, and not the long die ones as advertised."

So, we have a dilemma here. Hey OP, care to share more info?
Were the diodes 3.6mm ot 5.6 mm? They ones that 'fit'?

kendall's a good guy, im glad this all got straightened out. I am a regular at both his and drew's stores. never gone wrong with either of them :)

As we speak I'm unpacking the package from kendall!
Yep, neatly packaged PHR sled and 2 glow caps!!
I'd also be regular at modwerx, however prices for shipping to me are bit too high.

To confirm, all 5 were the short open can diodes. Regarding the dimensions, I have measured them using calipers.....

What do you mean by better?. Lighter in weight?, less likely to damge eyes?.

Is it not the case that the extra material on the longer die produces more light and/or has more surface area to dissipate heat, and therefore can put out more power for the same size package?

Am I missing something here?, how are the diodes I have here better than LOC ones?.

I just searched on this site, and see that we are now discussing 3 different diodes, SOC, LOC, and SmOC !. Sorry

OH so they are all the same sort, only problem is that 2 did not work...
Well, as far as I can see here things got resolved!
A person who is treating his customers with free shipping (which can be higher than profit on small orders...) CANNOT be a dishonest person!

BTW Niko, you see that they are all 5.6 mm diodes... :D You know what to do! :p:crackup:

I bought one of these in the heat sink still, wich was listed with the same power output of the LOC's with no heat sink so i asume that thay are the same one with out the heat sink and one with.

I orderd one befor this thred whent up and now he has changed the listing and has ben Compleetly non-responsive to e-mails and PM's. (ben trying to cantact him for the order placed on the 22nd of last mounth that hasent ben sent out yet....)

Any one know whats up with this guy?

I have ordered some LOcs from another supplier.

I know whats up with you.... your spelling sucks....

The little red line under the words you type in the Reply Box
are spelling mistakes... not kudos for inventing a new word...

I think this is the most amount of spelling mistakes I've ever
seen in one small post...

now to see if i got a LOC, or the short die.
Think im not going to raze a fuss if its the short die since he did finaly contact me, :yh: I feal much beter.
Ill Just try and find somewhere elce to get them.

sory for my rant...
was just pulling my hair out, becuase i went with him hopeing for a faster delivery than sleds from china.
Not saying he is that slow lol (sayd he was on vacation wich i can understand, but some info on the site whold of ben nice :p)
