Update 3/14/13
Glasses are now back to $7.95 shipped :( Even though it is $3 more again it is still a heck of a deal.

I feel these glasses deserve a review based on their price/performance ratio. They are now selling for $5.00 free shipping in US on ebay with hard case. I bought 5 pairs when they were around $7 each now the price has dropped. I have performed a test for you to determine its performance... I did the test multiple times because my phone is being funny and kept freezing so i have burn marks all over the glasses. It withstands 2800+mw of 445nm with a 0mw reading on my laserbee and i have done this multiple times with the same results.

Update due to a request I also own an HDE yellow pair which I tested in the second video. I didn't use a g2 lens that is why the power is different for this one i still think 2w+ is plenty ;) The yellow does not work like the red does it allowed 54mw through ..... This is better than nothing and they work fine for minimum risk lazering! But for ideal protection get the red glasses.

Protective 532nm Anti Laser Tinted Safety Glasses with Free Protective Case | eBay

So this is my final test for the HDE glasses I opened up another pair to make sure I didn't just luck out with a random good pair. I test it first with the 445nm and still nothing.... then i tested the old pair against a 405nm and it preformed just as well ;)

I know they have fingerprints all over them ;)

Just added a demo of an unfiltered green and how infrared passes right through for educational purposes. I used an IR pass filter and then the glasses. There was a 1mw difference but that could of been because i was just holding the laser and didn't have it in a set position.

P.S. I have no idea what i was watching on tv

Update don't buy the green!

No the other reds are ones I give to people that buy lasers from me so I don't want to burn holes in all of them ;) I would be willing to test some more with some low powered stuff like a 100mw 405m and 532nm if you would like. I know that is nothing special but it won't destroy all of them lol i well destroy the two pair as much as you guys want.... How long to burn a hole through might be a good test.

Update!
Tested another red one!

The thing with greens though is the infrared. It will block what green you throw at it but it does little to nothing against infrared. so if your green is filtered you are fine if not you should get a filter on it, then these will work fine.

Nice. Multiple tests will confirm that this product works. Thanks for taking time to test these for the community.

Good on you for doing this review, I guess I stand corrected as you can get laser safety glasses for $5.00 :)

Has anyone tested the Green Tinted glasses from this seller? If the green tinted ones block red wavelengths then this could be a great way to not break the bank for 650nm Glasses.

Well I got good and bad news.... good news is that I just ordered a pair of green glasses to test and I have a 500mw mits. 638 already on the way from DTR so ill be doing a test for everyone. The bad news the glasses went back up to $7.95 :( it is still a very good price though.

I also have an LPC-826 I can test them with too. And I cant forget my 250mw I got from daguin that has to be in the running for the worlds smallest burning laser lol I love that little thing

Well I await your review of them! I have a 300mW 650nm laser I built on March 11th, I am not too worried about it but feel that as a laser hobbyist I should have a pair of glasses so that I can advocate laser safety to everyone I know as well as protect myself from harm.
